"Yes, Korra. We need to get out of here. And fast. Ogham, get Coal, the unconscious Kobold, and any others who are living and get moving. Take whoever you think will be best to help you. Whoever is left, these bodies need to disappear. Just because the Watch sent us on this mission doesn't mean they won't fry us if this is discovered. No time to waste. let's move."

"As long as we get Coal back in one piece to Vilroy, I doubt they'll care about what happened here" Liutprand replied to DePoe "However, I concur with getting out of here as soon as possible. That shifter thug might come back with more friends".

"This should make you feel better, I learned the design from a Cannith Magewright." Rotom takes out a small spider-like contraption, it's glass abdomen filled with a glowing red liquid, and places it on Coal: "Irisv" With the command word spoken, the device begins cleaning and suturing the wound, leaving not even a scratch behind before itself disappearing in a puff of arcane smoke.

"That looks good" Rotom admires her handywork. "Which way to the station?"

OOC: One spell slot used to cast Cure Wounds
Cure Wounds: 1D8+2 = [6]+2 = 8

Ogham nods, then unceremoniously picks up the unconscious kobold and, imitating the half-orc, slings it over his shoulder.

Then he gestures for Coal to come along, and the warforged starts walking in the opposite diection of where the shifter ran off to.

OOC: Ha! :) Now I'm confused. There's two kobolds we're taking, right? Korra has one, and Ogham the other. And we're moving out. Ogham just happened to move first.

At least, that's what I thought was happening, but now I'm not so sure...

"Come now, Korra." Rotom interjects, trying to defuse the situation. "There are two suspects, you can both carry one. But don't rough them up too much, we still need to question them."

She then turns to DePoe. "As much as I hate to say it, I doubt the watch will care about these two." The kobold looks over the two bodies with a hint of contrition. "The wagon will come across the bodies before long, and if they are lucky, they will stay clear of The Keeper."

OOC:

Yeah, two of them. But they were tied up together, we can roll with it live.

OOC: Oh, that makes sense. I see why Korra reacted the way she did, now. :)

Ogham stops and shrugs in response to the half-orc, then holds out the prisoners to her in one strong hand. Then he tilts his head to the side in imitation of what he has seen some people do, as if asking Korra what she wants.

Alara surveyed the alley with the somber, clinical air of one for whom mass death was once a way of life.

As her allies began securing the captives, the Aundairan caught Liutbrand's eye and raised a single finger, indicating he and the others should wait. She walked quickly back the way she had come, pausing outside of the bar to right the ladder before ducking inside.

The patrons were still milling about as the bartender received a disjointed account of the events in the alley from a pair of returning witnesses. A few warforged looked like they were about to comment, but Alara did not slow to meet their gaze. She simply swept to the center of the room, grabbed the forgotten wine bottle from the table, and strode rapidly out.

As she left, the Dwarf who was already descending the ladder glared daggers at her. But neither said anything and she moved quickly on to rejoin her companions.

She nodded to Liutbrand to signal she was ready to depart.

"fine. But when, not if, this comes back to bite us..." With that, DePoe quickly wipes a little dirt off the walls and street and then onto himself. 'Back to Vilroy then?"

OOC: Are there two bodies? I thought there was just the one. Nevermind then. Ogham has the other body and Korra was probably not as angry when Ogham grabbed the other body. She would still have said something about not cutting her rope. :)

Sergeant Germaine Vilroy had set herself up in the local Watch guardhouse in High Walls. The desk sergeant barely looked up at the motley crew dragging in a pair of bound kobolds. He just pointed to the set of cages for prisoners, and then to an office door that read “CAPTAIN” where they could find Sergeant Vilroy with her dirty boots up on a borrowed desk puffing on a cigar from a box on the desk and sipping on a glass of dwarven whiskey from a collection on a side table. A bag of coins sat on the edge of the desk.

“So things went well,” Vilroy observed. “Coal, I take it?” she asked the one-armed warforged.

“Yes, sir,” Coal said respectfully, her former military training showing itself.

“So give me the rundown,” Vilroy told the party. “Oh, and there’s your pay.” She nudged the sack of gold on the edge of the desk. [300 gp, let me know if you want to divide it 50 each, or add it to the party loot below]

"Right." Rotom combs over her notes. "Alden d’Orien has been hiring warforged laborers for a secret research-gathering mission in Old Sharn, supposedly bankrolled by House Orien. However, that is unlikely to be the truth. The overseers were overhead talking about what to do with Alden’s son, Caden d’Orien, whom they have apparently kidnapped. Furthermore, the working conditions are inhumane. Lots of work related casualties, and worse they even killed a warforged by the name of Razor who was protesting the conditions. The expedition presumably found what they were looking for, and started their cleanup operations."

"Which included scrubbing Coal. The remnants of the hit squad are out in the cages here."
The kobold finished with a cold hiss, the thought of shifter that got away left a bad taste in her mouth.

OOC: I could go for picking up a shield when we get the chance. I suppose that counts as dividing the gold?

Ogham merely nods and listens. Not used to most social interactions, the warforged's mind soon begins to drift to the defensive features of the guardhouse, how various small animals could infiltrate it easily, and from there on musing about the offensive capabilities of mice.

He would smile, if he could.

Sergeant Vilroy listened to Rotom’s account of what they’d learned. She looked at the holy symbol put on her desk. “Dark Six,” she said. “Not uncommon,” she admitted. “You get any information out of those kobolds?” she asked. “Who they’re working for? And this is connected to House d’Orien?” she mused. “Might be worth pumping Alden d’Orien for information.”

OOC: Okay, everyone mark 50 gp down for your share of the job payment then.

"What about the Group who tried to destroy Coal? And US? What abut the accusations of using warforged as labor without pay? There's more going on here."

“We didn’t get a chance to interrogate the prisoners, our main concern was getting out of there with Coal intact, before more of those thugs could show up” Liutbrand changed his posture, a pensive look on his face “technically, with Coal delivered and payment settled, our contract is done. Unless you’d like us to do more work for the watch?”.
