Endurance advance, his boots in the small brook that runs along the passageway. He moves into position to see the wolves, ready to help as needed.

Keira tails back again, keeping well out of range of the wolves, and watching out for any surprises being launched from outside the cave.

"Let's see if we can calm them down first before using your spells. I'm sure there are some goblins who are far more deserving of it. At the first sign that they're going to start howling, however, do what you can." Ana replied.

The elf took point sneaking into the cave., trying to move silently to the area containing the wolves. Thinking on it a bit, she pulled out a set of rations and picked out the jerky part, hoping to use them as wolf treats. I should have just grabbed one of those goblins...

As she came into view, she made herself as un-threatening as possible, held out the jerky, and said soothingly, "There now, my friends. Are you hungry?"

Gnash moves carefully next to Rebecca, doing his best not to distract the wolves' attention from Ana, and ready to jump in to protect anyone who needs protecting.

He whispers to Rebecca, "If we can calm the wolves and free them from their chains, I may be able to lead them from the cave. I can make it seem like there's a tasty squirrel that they can chase outdoors. We'll see how this goes."

The lot of you creep into the cave, trying to stay as quiet as possible...even though some of you have no choice but to get your feet a bit wet. Ana takes the lead, stepping into the chamber with the wolves, who immediately jump to attention and begin snarling and growling, the chains around their necks pulling taut against the iron ring in the center of the room as they ignore the bone - which you now see is probably the missing hoof from one of the dead horses - and try to reach you. Ana, with some help from the rest of you, uses some soothing words and motions, and in no time the wolves begin to back down. Their snarling and growling continue, but they seem to be OK with the thought of the group of you being in the chamber and around them.

The go back to arguing over the hoof, but they all keep an eye on you. And you can see that there is a large lock attaching the 3 chains to the center ring; it can be assumed that opening this lock would release all three of the wolves at the same time.

OOC: Another great tactic; way to go!

From this point on, if you are attempting to stay quiet in the cave I'll need a Stealth roll in each of your posts where you are moving.

Endurance stands where he is, unwilling to move lest he distract the wolves. If the lock is to be picked, he is ready to be both a barricade and to cast Thauaturgy just beyond the cave entrance, to provide the sound of delicious unguarded lambs,or something.

Keira squeezes north past Gnash, doing her best to clear out of the way of any wolves, and sneaks a few steps past the opening, deeper into the cave.

OOC: Trying to move approximately 4 squares north on the map.

Continuing to make placating gestures, Ana whispered, "We can free them when we leave. Hopefully we'll have a key by then. Unless someone can pick a lock?"

She looked around to see if anyone knew how, before realizing that Keira had already moved deeper into the cave. Slowly backing out of the area with the wolves, she put an arrow to her bow and tried to cover the human woman's movement.

With one eye warrily on the wolves, Rebecca moves carefully into the cave following up behind the two scouts with the sleep spell ever ready on her lips.

"Well done Ana!" Gnash whispers in excitement. "I agree, we should circle back to free these creatures later, after we've dealt with the goblins."

Gnash turns to see Keira sneaking off, and begins moving as stealthily as he can to catch up to her. Reaching her, he continues on, leading the group further into the cave. He pauses across the first opening on the left to look around and see if he can spot any signs of ambush.
