OOC: Heh. I was thinking more like cats cleaning each other, but this works!

Dellrak blinked with surprise at Myrral’s explanation.
OOC: I believe such cleaning is reserved for kittens. And courting. Cats are not naturallly pack animals with lions being noteable exception

After waking up from his 'nap', Harb took some time to check his healing kit and search for search for supplies with which to restock it. Then, he gathered his gear and prepared to set out once more.

FitzTheRuke

Legend
When the group was ready to depart, the Tabaxi Chief gathered the village together and they roared and screeched a grand hoopla as well-wishes on the success of the mission. The chief gave the Sticks three reedboat canoes and a large sack full of dead rodents as a parting gift.

Myrral had intended to leave his childhood friends Grrol and Brapp behind, but there they were at the edge of the jungle, carrying a fourth canoe.

It was lightly raining as the group set out, and the tabaxi crowd quickly dispersed into various huts, leaving the Sticks' new members to lead the outsiders away from the village.

OOC: can we assume Myrral heard their story? Anything you all would like to conceal? Lie about? Exaggerate?

Miss Imogen had witnessed one of the village children present a rodent to her mother earlier in the day as a thank-you gift (the child had slept only fitfully, with the visitors present), and so she imitated the mother's response, batting the bag with the back of her hand as she rolled her head.

She trusted this was an appropriate response, and she said farewell to the tabaxi.

Round 0

Dellrak made sure, this time, to spread their food and other gear across all the canoes. That way, if they capsized or lost one, they wouldn’t lose everything. They had been lucky enough to be near the tabaxi village this time. Next time they might find it more difficult to resupply.

Taking a seat in the lead canoe, Dellrak picked up a paddle and they set out into the jungle once more.

Myrral watches from his position in the canoe while his companions take care of the picking the best way and keeping pace with other canoes. It turns out that picking the way through the grass and under the low hanging branches is bad and requires extra effort with rowing just to keep pace.

Perception: 1D20+4 = [14]+4 = 18
Brapp Survival; Grrol Athletics: 1D20+4 = [2]+4 = 6
1D20+3 = [17]+3 = 20

OOC: we can always adjust the crews as we go along - if Imogen comes in Myrrals canoe then he would row at least part of the way to share the burden.

Rodrigo still wasn't quite too sure what to make of the Tabaxi... but they hadn't betrayed the party, and if they had been surviving in the jungle this long, they had to know what they were doing. He tried to exchange a few words, or a nod, with all of them. Still, until they truly proved themselves... he would have to rely on the Sticks - and himself.

Rodrigo spent most of his time watching. There were so many hiding spots in the jungle, so many angles of attack. His focus kept slipping.

Qawasha too spent most of his time watching. He felt at ease with the Sticks, and in the jungle... but the Tabaxi reminded him that he still had much to learn with his communion with nature. If only he could truly connect with the spirits of the jungle, he could tell the Sticks where to go with certainty. Was he a Stick now? He didn't know. Until he achieved that true communion, his eyes would have to do.

Perception on middle of canoe: 1D20+4 = [18]+4 = 22

After a time, he felt almost into a trance. He didn't need to look everywhere - the birds, the insects, the wind was letting him know where to look.

Here we go, more canoes, more jungle, more heat and more of those damn insects! thought Chrysagon, slapping the boat. He looked around... A proud company of heroes... What can they do again such evil. Only one thing awaits them, more death.

But he will do is job until the end, whatever it costs.
