As Traubon and Thadius cautiously grab the muckdweller corpse, Biter takes a few steps forward and starts pulling back on the body of his fallen comrade while muttering quietly. Magdalena doesn't understand most of it, although she thinks she recognizes the words 'home' and 'ceremony'.

Chatty nods, and starts, "Cold lizard bring to tribe cottage. Family goodbye say."

He points to where Runner has fled to, explaining that they have built some ramshackle cottages by the river and that they wish to bring the dead lizard there. When Chatty invites you to join them in the ceremony, it obviously makes Spitter somewhat nervous; he looks at Chatty with concern, but does not seem to dare contradict him.

The creatures know of no other entrances, and never having returned after being chased out by the goblins without standing a chance, they do not know about guards or security. It seems apparent they had never expected to be attacked, so they had no proper defences themselves.

OOC: I see Magdalena wants to move on. Do you guys agree, or do you wish to return to Thistle for some rest?

Magdalena relayed some questions and then shook her head at James. “They do not know much more than they have told us. Just the location. They haven’t been back since they fled.”

The paladin put a hand on Thadius and Traubon’s shoulders. “They have their own ways with the dead,” she said. “Allow them to give him and his family peace. He has invited us, if we wish to go.” She took a breath and glanced at Traubon, who had killed the muckdweller, before speaking again. “I accept any debt you may demand on behalf of unjustly killing one of your people,” she told Chatty.

Chatty looks at Magdalena with a blank expression, falling silent for the first time since he started talking. His reptilian visage does not betray any emotion, until he slowly says, "Debt?"

The muckdweller seems confused by the concept. After a moment, he makes a strange motion which you guess to be a shrug, then he returns his attention to his fallen companion. Quickly he instructs the other lizards to position themselves around the corpse, then collectively they hoist it up and start moving towards their riverside shelter, not looking back to see if you are following them.

Gorir,

"I would not think that his family would want his killers at the funeral, but then I don't know their culture." Gorir says. "Perhaps it's best if we continue on our mission. If we reclaim their home that should satisfy any sense of honour anyway."

Magdalena sighed. “You are probably right,” she agreed with Gorir. “Let us continue on our way. It seems solving the goblin problem with be done at the same time we solve our patron’s problem.”

The paladin straightened her armor and studied the map she had drawn from the muckdweller’s description. “To the north, then.”

James is a bit upset to be missing out on the ceremony, he was rather hungry, though he does not show it. "Very Well it has suddenly dawned upon me, we know of each others skills... My skill set relies on subterfuge and distraction. I tend to work better alone."

Moving on from the place where you encountered the muckdwellers, it does not take long to find the depot described by Baron Wildhurst and later by the lizardlike creatures. On the side of one of many hills, just a few feet from the tribuary river, you find a section of sunken earth covering the area where the main entrance collapsed many years ago. The white marble slab is almost entirely buried underneath loose dirt.

Walking around the hill, a way in can be found. Not much more than a hole in the ground, this used to be the kitchen entrance and was described by Chatty as currently the only way to enter the depot. You spot no activity around the hills or just inside the entrance.

OOC: If you are moving in, please give me a marching order.

Anyone who makes a Survival check and beats DC10 finds the following:

[sblock=Survival DC10]From the kitchen entrance to the river a broad track can be found, as if something smelly has been pushed or swept from the depot into the river, a week or more ago. Since then much of the track has been disturbed by booted footprints, possibly goblins'.[/sblock]
