Pathfinder 1E [IC] Paths of Legend: Resurrection

OOC: Shayuri, are you still with us?

Astor's shock is evident, "Zombies? Here? There hasn't been an incident like that in years. Not since the quarry massacre of 1151. What sort of hornet's nest have I stirred up?"

He sits and ponders for a moment, "We don't have any powerful mages here in Vedlund. We'd have to take that shadowstone of yours to the capital, several days ride to the south. I'd rather not take such a long detour, but I don't think it would be safe to leave it here, either."

He looks around at the group, "I was hoping to head out this morning. What say you?"

(OOC - Yep, just waiting for an answer to the wizard question :))

Annika scratches at her shin restlessly and looks at the others. "It's not what I came here to do originally...but it does seem pretty important. If that stone keeps raising dead bodies as it goes, he'll need help getting it there."

Donall nodded in agreement with Astor. "Yes, let us head out this morning."

"There are orcs to deal with. We can just stuff that stone in the bottom of a backpack and deal with it later when we return."

The ranger was not real keen on just making a trip to the big city over a consultation about some rock. The urgency of that sort of thing could wait until they had a real reason to go to the capital.

"Perhaps send the stone with someone? Capable group of guards maybe?" the ratkin was anxious to part with the stone, he would gladly jump into an orc infested mountain rather than witness what that thing could do to someone over an extended exposure time.

Peregrin

Peregrin hesitated. On the one hand, making a lengthy detour to drop the stone off somewhere and not even being sure that would be the end of it, would be a waste of time. But on the other hand, keeping the corrupted stone nearby might make their errand a lot more difficult.

"I am worried about keeping the stone nearby when we go into orc territory. Perhaps it would create more opponents than we can handle. But I am not going to the city with that cursed thing by myself, so if you all agree we're leaving for the mountains tomorrow, I will come along," the halfling says softly.

Donall looked at the Halfling and asked, “What is the reason you have to wait until tomorrow? Astor asked if we are ready this morning.”

He looked to Astor to see if the man had an answer for the ratkin’s idea of sending the stone with someone else.

A blush appears on Peregrin's face. "Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood Astor's words and thought he meant tomorrow. There is no reason to wait, I reckon."

OOC: Oops. My bad. ;)

Astor's lack of experience seems to be troubling him, "I...I don't know what to do. The stone seems dangerous, but, I don't even know that there's someone in the capital who could do anything with it. And the orc raids are not going to stop while we spend a few weeks on what may be a pointless errand."

The grizzled old half-orc barkeep has emerged from the cellar where he apparently sleeps and overhears Astor's lamentations. He grunts and says simply, "You think too much."

Astor nods, "My father used to say that the mark of a true leader wasn't confidence but conviction. Very well. Let's go hunt down the orcs as planned and work out what to do with the stone on the way."

He looks around at the group before asking, "If that's alright with you, that is?"

Donall nodded in agreement with the old half-orc. Indecision was often worse that not making the right decision.

“Right, stuff the stone in the bottom of a pack and let’s get hunting orcs. Here you can even put it in my pack.”

He held the backpack open.
