Lyllie reaches up and grabs Aanzu's arm for support, her tiny hand a stark contrast to his muscled frame. Again her white eyes turn back into her head and her bodily senses go numb. Poe, take a look, she whispers telepathically to her raven. Someone's watching. Find them.

OOC: I should read better next time. I didn't realize that Aanzu had started off in search of Icosa until I went back and re-read the thread. I chose Aanzu because I thought the gentle touch of the tiny gnome leaning on the big monster-guy had a nice visual to it; hopefully Aanzu will stop walking long enough for Lyllie to do this, otherwise she'll be left flailing about like a blind idiot looking for something to grab onto. :)

Yttrian lends his back to the efforts to establish camp, helping bury the bodys and move boxes, but he remains silent as he can't shake the buzzing feeling at the back of the mind. Later, when Prosper displays the strange device he found, he shrugs. "Well, keep it under wraps for now. We'll figure out what to do later, when we come back from the Sanctuary... assuming we make it back." He remains put while Aanzu starts off in search of Icosa, standing vigil over the camp.

Icosa hesitates, but when scanning returns nothing conclusive, he indicates his assent with a nod and resumes walking back up towards the battle site.

The findings are once more wrapped and concealed, placed with the rest of the servants' belongings. The camp is set, the graves, dug, and a heavy feeling pervades the guides, since they'll be left to share the flatland with the deceased mercenaries, as well as their surviving companions. Not long afterwards, the three servants seat around, near a tent, sharing a pipe while avoiding lighting bonfires. Their stern faces and hushed tones suggest an intense bit of planning for the near future.

Aanzu follows the deep marks left by the horse and soon enough finds Icosa and his newfound companion as they make their way towards the group once more. Both Icosa and Thulwar fail to identify any guardians or powers in action, and as Aanzu appears from the path above, it seems like the feeling rescinds a bit, as if the prince had been the cause of it all along.

Meanwhile, up above, the humming sound intensifies, but no source can be seen by the heroes. Poe's flight leaves Lyllie none the wiser about potential spies, but it does enlighten her perception of the terrain. Poe's eyes find Icosa and a newcomer nearby, being approached by Aanzu and herself as they descend. As Poe goes around and flies upwards, he finds a new plateau, opening up from the path they're about to follow. There, the place is clearly divided in two sectors, both hidden among sharp and tall stone formations. The first one, closer to the camp, holds a huge metal-like complex, now hidden under lively green moss and branches. Beyond, a thick fog covers a large area, making it impossible to recognize the geography. Beyond, at least two ways seem to branch out, one from the ruins and the other from the fog. No scrying presence or spying beast can be seen around.

The group's search is not entirely fruitless, though, since Kethra is able to follow the strange noise as it moves around and up the mountainous path. Whatever it is, it remains between the heroes and the Sanctum, taunting them with it's faint whispers.

Harfik Human Monk

Harfik approaches the servants. "In order for this to end we must leave you. What do you need from us before we go? You have everything you need yes?" A slight motion with his head to the "visitors" "Do you need them bound or brought with us?"

Yttrian shrugs at Lyllie's description. "We're here to get inside, I say we go inside. Let's head for the building and see if we can't find an entrance."

"What did the Icosa find?"

Aanzu's question is clearly directed to Icosa, although it is unclear whether the dragonborn refers to the gnome newcomer or the situation surrounding their meeting.

"The guardians are watching, eyes in the distance," Aanzu says to everyone. "The offer of passage may not last long."

The prince does not elaborate how he knows this, or even if he is sure about it. Aanzu just assumes it based on his encounter with the mystery woman.

"We'll manage" - the simple answer given by Prosper expresses concern, but at the same time suggests a plan. Before Harfik can say anithing else, Portis moves towards the road down and begins to gather simple materials, things that might well be used to build subtle, yet efficient, traps. As for the dwarves, they make no pleas, at least, not for as long as the heroes are present. Dvalin is still bound, although the nature of his shackles is quite different than the former branches that entangled him. Caliban has placed him in irons - a strange sort of equipment to be found amidst the servant's belongings - leaving him precious little space to move around. His mouth obstructed, he can no longer communicate freely, surely a measure taken so as not to allow him to warn potential allies of future plans. Atir still moves freely, although under the close watch of Prosper - not a crossbow shot away from the captive.

As for Lyllie's description, it does make some justice to the maps researched back at the Keep and brought along for the journey, except for a single detail: the metal sprawl seen by Poe isn't described anywhere. Considering the massive size of the structure, it does seem odd that no one would have taken the time to document it, but it also seems inlukely that it would have been built in short notice. Maybe a trick of the Teraphim, maybe an illusion, the thing was surely there though, at least ass far as Lyllie's - and Poe's - eyes could tell.

The strange, humming sounds are still present, almost as if flerting with the idea of returning to the lesser plateau. Nothing can be seen, though, and the idea of small, unseen insects pervades everyone's minds, so close the noise is to that of a wasp nest.
