Krik's first attack misses the mark, the second attack bites barely scratching through the thick leathery plates, but his instinct for the kill makes it bite more deeply.

The dour dwarf accompanying the humans trundles forward, he makes a swing at the kruthik by Belleros, but doesn't connect.

(Still no sign of hafrogman, basic attack hits, 2pts damage from proximity to kruthik)

Gutwick's grimaces as the wildly flailing legs and claws and spikes of the kruthik slash at him. His sword flickers and the kruthik collapses to the floor in a pile of kruthik bits. He glances over his shoulder at the kneeling dragonborn who, it seems, is rallying. The Balash rises unsteadily to his feet and circles around Belleros. His attack is weak and misses, his strength is very nearly spent.

Lehrik steps up and takes a swing, begemmed blade whistling as it swings wide of the mark.

Korask growls as the relentless thrashing of the kruthik lays an gash open on his leg. "Sit still!" he bellows as his spear tracks and thrusts ineffectually.

With grim determination, Heskrash circles the kruthik he has challenged. He spares a quick glance at his kinsman who is staggering nearby. By Bahamut's breath, you will not fall! he shouts as he brings his sword down on the kruthik's chitinous shell. The loud crunch of the blow heartens the Balash warrior, filling him with the strength of confidence.

[Sparky]

Heskrash's sword glows with golden light as it arcs down and drives deep into the larger kruthik's shell. That same glow briefly shines in the winded Balash warrior's eyes and he growls, surging to his feet. "Balash!"

When Heskrash pulls his blade free, it sizzles as the power of Bahamut's radiance burns away the kruthik's dark blood.

Belleros does not waste time and strikes down the krutik closes to him, the one he had missed before. Beware, Mask, these disgusting things are nimble, though weak!!, he yells in elven.

A kruthik skitters around its hivemate and lunges at Krik. Its scything claws find purchase in the meat of Krik's calf.

The two kruthik bracing Heskrash attack, but are unable to land strikes on Bahamut's disciple. The Platinum Lord's blessing is all the armor Heskrash needs, it seems.

Lehrik flinches clear of a swiping attack with a clashing of metal plates.

Dark figures scurry, backlit by the glow of a nearby shard of Sunstone. A deep, rumbling groan issues from the direction of the frenzied scramblings.

Mask hurries forward and throws a ball of flame from her staff that erupts among the skittering insects!

(Scorching Burst at Q16 to catch 2 small kruthiek. Invisible Castle is down at the moment. Feel free to roll yourself, or I'll roll once it comes back up.)

 

[Sparky]

The flaming ball arcs overhead and lands beyond the kruthik, exploding with a brief but fierce roar. Only one kruthik remains of the two that suffered the blast.

A frustrated shriek from a nearby cluster of sunstone shards makes the kruthik shudder momentarily. An acrid, musky scent comes over the area.

"I tire of these beasts" Krik grumbles, trying to cover his pain with false indifference.

Typical for a dragonborn, his injured state only spurs him on the more as he swings with both scimitars at the large beast in front of him. His first swing misses. Roaring in frustration, Krik swings his second blade with awe-inspiring ferocity, the scimitar's edge colliding with the beast's exoskeleton in a satisfying crunch. (OOC: Twin strike first attack misses, second crits - 2 base damage + 4 quarry damage + 3 from high crit scimitar = 9 damage total)
