D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

OOC: Since Orsik showed up in this fight, I'm assuming we caught up with him, Shuushar, and Drum near the camp. And also that I swiped my pack as we went back that way, or that Orsik picked it up.

OOC: Yeah, you caught up and were probably keeping pace with each other until you heard the fight in the camp

Eldeth says "We don't know where he went. When the chaos broke out he disappeared. We were looking for him around the camp when the guards attacked us."

Topsy (who is very badly wounded...1 hp left) adds "Maybe he left?" She nods indicating the direction the kuo-toa are moving - away from the village back towards the crossroads.

Ezraen kneels down and begins tending to Topsy's wounds, "Curses, he was our tracker. Eldeth, do you think you might be able to get a hint of which way he may have gone?"

The paladin glances at the dispersing Kuo-toa, and looks at the jumble of possible tracks and tries to fight the creeping despair...

OOC: Is there a safe enough place to "hole up" until the craziness passes?

 

[Uller]

The most likely direction is away from Demogorgon. He didn't go towards it (you'd have seen him). Drum and Shuushar were under (and really still are) a compulsion to move away and get out of sight of the demon lord. Even now Drum and Shuushar are trying to get out of sight of Demogorgon by placing themselves so that the largest rocks are between them and it.

A place to hole up: You can move south under the cliff ledge you came down from. There is a lot of broken ground there that might offer shelter or you can move westward along the lake shore just to get away.

Surana looks from Topsy to Orsik with a pleading expression. "Could you help her, Orsik? She's been through enough today. Sarith too, if you can, but if not I'll carry him. We need to move."

OOC: I think Orsik has two spell slots left? He's only done Faerie Fire, right? Also this is probably hopeless, but a survival roll to see if Surana can make out any sign of Bert's direction: [roll0]

Casting a glance at Shuushar and Drum, Ezraen says, "Let's move away, along the lake. Perhaps we can find Bert's trail there... Though we know that if he doesn't want to be followed, he won't be. Let us just hope that he was too frantic to cover his tracks."

 

[Uller]

Orsik has one spell left. He cast faerie fire and healing word.

OOC: Gah, that's right. Ok, just Topsy then. Surana didn't want Sarith to die, but she'd prioritize Topsy's comfort over Sarith being up. He's a jerk anyhow.
