D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

OOC: I will wait for the response before proceeding further, but being a mere few hundred feet from Demogorgon has Ezraen looking nervously back at the village...

OOC: We're not that close anymore. We're 200' from camp. Camp's 500' from the city gate. The gate's another few hundred feet from the docks.

Yes. You are currently about 1000' from Demogorgon. It is still ravaging the village.

Bertram has not explored the cave as he does not want to light a light. He isn't sure if more than a few of you can fit.

"I understand. I felt the same way when I saw it.

We need somewhere for all of us to hide. I'm going to come in and look around, ok? You don't have to move."

OOC: I assume Eldeth could hear this exchange, so she can pass info back down the line about what's going on.

Gonna step in and see how big the cave is. The "torch" is on my pack as usual, if that matters.

OOC: I'm assuming you've had any light sources doused up to this point to avoid drawing attention. Orsik will have to cast light for your torch to work. I'm sure it's been a while since he last cast it.

Surana comes crawls down into the cave. The entrance is so low she has to crawl on her belly and gets covered in slick mud. Demogorgon flails at something in the village and the earth quakes. Small stones tumble down into the cave. It is rocky and reasonably dry.

At first glance there is only room for 2 or 3 of you but near the back is a hole that goes down. It appears there is an open space a few feet below.

OOC: Oof, a little further than I thought, but even 1,000 ft. is not far enough when talking about a 3- or 4-story building that is rampaging through a village... ;)

Ezraen watches the unfolding scene and glances back at the village. Surana probably has the best chance at this. The paladin climbs up to a better vantage point and keeps an eye out for possible threats...

OOC: Damn, that demon is too distracting! :p I don't know if we really would have been thinking about dousing the light. We would have probably more been looking to move quickly...

OOC: I don't think you'd have been using a light up to this point. The village and the camp and surroundings are entirely dimly lit. Kuo-toa are frightened by bright light so you would not have used a light in the village or the camp without provoking hostilities. You are about to the area where it gets so dark that Surana and Bertram would need a light source to function which is why he stopped here (otherwise he'd have kept right on going!).

Shuushar and Drum still feel a strong compulsion to keep moving. They both are also showing the same signs of delusion as Bertram. Shuushar's ability to navigate is probably suspect, as is Drum's ability to communicate.

OOC: Is Derendil going to be able to get in? :(

I'll drop down in the hole and look around.

He can squeeze. The muck will help...

The hole drops down a few feet into a round tunnel of sorts that seems to stretch in both directions along the lake shore beyond the light of your 'torch'. The tunnel is about 8' wide. Everyone could easily fit in here. The rock that the tunnel is comprised of appears natural but Surana is no expert.

Bertram pokes his head down the hole. "WOW!! That's really neat! Wonder how this got here?" Bertram clearly has an affinity for tunnels...
