D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

OOC: Is the surrounding area still dimly lit? If so, then we could have made it without light, but we would definitely need some now...

Finding the demon lord too distracting, Ezraen hops down and at the entrance of the cave calls in quietly, "So, are we continuing on or hole-ing up here?"

Surana laughs at Bert's sudden excitement as she climbs back into the cave. "Looks like you're feeling a bit better already. I'm glad you're alright, Bert."

She lays down at the entrance and looks back at him. "I'm going to get the others. I'll be right back, ok?"

She shimmies through the mud and makes her way back to the group. "Bert's alright. Just a bit dazed. He's found a cave--we'll all fit. Come on."

She heads back for the cave.

Ezraen looks at Shuushar and Drum, "We can hide in here for a bit, so that we can rest. We'll leave as soon as we can. I promise. Do you understand?"

Ezraen speaks in calm soothing tones, not sure that Drum's spores are translating properly.

Erevan looks puzzled. "This is hardly the time to explore a cave, particularly when a huge monster is wreaking havoc nearby! I wouldn't want to be trapped in there if the entrance comes crashing down. "

The elf shudders. "And I thought being trapped in a BIG cave was claustrophobic."

He makes no move to crawl into the crevice, unless everyone else does.

Ezraen looks to Erevan, "'Van, we need to rest. I am tapped out, both mentally and physically. I can't even imagine how Drum, Shuushar, and Bert are feeling..."

Surana turns back to Erevan. "If we want to keep going, there's a tunnel we can use to travel. It looks like it runs along the lake.

If we stay up here, Bert and I need light. That would make us easy prey,"
she says, holding her arms open to the vast, dark cavern around.

"I'm sorry, Erevan. If you stay, I understand, but I won't make myself an easy kill for that...thing."

She turns around and crawls into the cavern.

Ezraen lets out a breath that he did not even know that he was holding and smiles to the others, "It's a little bit of a gamble, but no more that staying out in the open with a light glaring for all to see."

Gesturing for the others to enter, Ezraen keeps an eye out for threats as the others go. He nods to Erevan, "It will be okay. Have faith."

Orsik Stonecunning check [roll0]

Eldeth Stonecunning [roll1]

Both dwarves enter the tunnel and look around. Neither is able to identify the origin of it or determine its stability. Eldeth does point out that the tunnel (not the cave) is below the level of the lake. It is dry though.
