D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

For a while you can hear and feel the monster thundering and screeching around the village. You can't tell what his is doing but the occasional shrieking of kuo-toa tell you he is still huntng and killing. Then you hear the unmistakable sound of large rocks sailing through the air and splashing into the lake. You realize he is skipping stones! Hssssssss.......SPLASH Splash splash...he does this for a bit longer and smashes several stones into the village.

He thunders about for a while longer but after an hour or so seems to wade back out into the lake.

You are about 2 hours into your rest.

OOC: Yeah sorry, I thought it was a cantrip but it isn't. Too bad.

Erevan is uncomfortable in these tight quarters and with every sound that comes from Demogorgon and might be a bit closer to them, he jumps. Eventually the elf relaxes somewhat, but he keeps his bow and arrows close.

Surana lays quietly in the tunnel, eyes closed. She listens to the sounds of destruction above, and if she's bothered, it doesn't show.

In fact, anyone looking closely enough would notice one corner of her mouth twitching into a small smile with every kuo-toa shriek.

The slience doesn't last long. There is another sound of a stone being flung. Only this one is getting LOUDER. It crashes into the cavern wall or ceiling and is followed by the sound of collapsing rock. Then another and another...and another. Demogorgon is attempting to bury whatever is left of Sloobludop!

The tunnel you are in starts to shake. For a moment you actually feel as if you are falling. Debris and stone falls all around you. Your light is buried and everything goes black (DC 13 Dex save for everyone. 1d10 bludgeoning damage on a fail).

Once everything settles down again and you realize you are still alive you hear the unmistakable sound of running water somewhere in the distance. Eldeth notices a new passage. "There is an opening in the wall!"

Once you dig out your light and the dust settles you see that both directions of the tunnel are hopelessly blocked as is the way you entered. But a new opening has appeared in the lake side wall of the tunnel. It is completely dark but the sound of running water somewhere in the distance is unmistakable. The stonework on the otherside of the passage is clearly not natural. The floor is paved with flat stones and the walls are rough cut rock.

You hear nothing more from Demogorgon.

You can resume your rest or you can explore the new passage.
