D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Under the lake? All of a sudden, this seems like a bigger risk... It is dry though. How tall is it? Are all of us able to stand at full height?"

It's round. 8' in diameter. So yes, you can stand.

Edit: And for clarification: It is not directly under the lake. But it is under the level of the surface of the lake.

OOC: Whew, I thought it passed under! >_<

"Let's try it and see if we can make our way to Gracklestugh, which I believe is in the direction that we are going?" Ezraen looks hopeful...

While you are trying to decide whether or not to go into the cave, Demogorgon appears to begin to move about the village. Smashing and thrashing with his tentacles. The ground shakes a little. It appears he is hunting for survivors but it's hard to tell from here.

OOC: @JustinCase, is Erevan going in? Everyone else is moving into the cave, eager to get out of sight. It's either go in the cave, move further away, find another hiding place or risk getting spotted.

Erevan is startled by a new series of destructive moves and sounds from the town, and without really thinking about it, the elf slides down the cave entrance, belly down.

"Yeah, rest is good. Let's take a break, out of sight of that thing," he says absentmindedly once inside the cave. Erevan does look around for any obvious signs of danger, and casts a simple cantrip on the cave entrance.

OOC: Alarm cantrip, set to warn Erevan silently if anything or anyone other than our party passes through.

You all pile into the cavern and bind wounds and catch your breath. Demogorgon continues to rage outside causing tremors in the tunnel but doesn't seem to cone near.

The tunnel goes at least 100' in either direction changing little in its course but seems empty and safe.

You gain the benefits of a short rest. Demogorgon has not left yet. Bert, Shuushar and Drum still seem not all together there. Derendil also seems to be easily irritated.

Do you stay here for your long rest?

OOC: I'd like to. We can set watches if we're worried, but Uller did say the cave looked long disused.

Hopefully after a long rest the mad NPCs will snap out of it.

OOC: Long rest sounds good. Watches are a good idea as well, though I do not know how restful a night we will have with Demogorgon raging just outside... :p
