D&D 5E [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

The spider stops just out of reach of Ezraen, rears up and launches a stream of sticky webs at the paladin.

[roll0]

Miss.

It seemed like the spider hesitated for a moment, perhaps it recognized something about Ezraen or noticed the presence of Erevan...you'll never know what went through it's arachnid brain. But it very obviously changed from going for a bite to trying to snare you with it's web.

Then it backs up to the cushions and partially up the wall.
[MENTION=6776182]JustinCase[/MENTION] and [MENTION=6801331]DMAesh[/MENTION], you are up.

OOC: I don't need Eldeth being disgruntled thorn in our sides this entire adventure because she thinks we stopped her from saving her orc BFF.

Unable to ignore the commotion downstairs anymore, Surana let go of the crossbow and hurried for the stairs. When she reached the first floor, she looked the furious dwarf in the eyes and spoke quickly. "Ront may be alive. The spiders didn't get them--they made it into the pools below. If you want to go, I'll try to keep the last few spiders off you. But I don't know how long until the rest of us follow."

She nodded to Derendil and turned back to the stairs, taking them two at a time as she rushed back to the bow.

OOC: Aiming for one of the smaller spiders.

Sensing the threat, the spider guarding the drow body clips his cocoon from the rest of the webbing then starts dragging him off to the safety of the cliffs. The others follow hungrily. There is a moment of calm. The demonic buzzing and squawking becomes almost background noise...then BANG! CLANG! ROAR! The gate on the quaggoth den is breaking....You don't think it is broken yet but soon. Very soon.

Erevan sees the spider move away from them, so he decides to grab a dagger (if Ezraen has not already taken them) and moves back to the previous room.

OOC: Can we bar the door or whatever seperates the altar room from the other chamber? DMAesh, do you want to search the other room or just rejoin the others ASAP? Also, Erevan wants to use a dagger and attempt to open the trapped chest (after disabling the trap, obviously).

Snatching the other dagger, Ezraen ushers Erevan out, "Let's get out of here. I hate this place. I want to leave."

[roll0]

As he moves through the altar room, he manages to notice Erevan slow and look at the chest. "Okay, but make it quick. An careful for that needle!"''

Then, the half-drow moves to the window to look down on the ledge and at the battle above.

Erevan quickly agrees. "Alright, I'll try to open this chest and then we get the hells out of here."

Taking the dagger, the elf moves to the chest and, utilizing the blade as a substitute for the real thing, attempts to disable the trap he found earlier. Once that is done, he'll pick the lock (if necessary).

OOC: I can't seem to find what to roll for disabling traps. Is that a stealth (+2) or sleight of hand (+4) check? Or thieves' tools (+2)? If so, please add the relevant number to this DEX roll: [roll0]

OOC: @JustinCase Without proper thieves' tools the check will be with disadvantage. You can either roll disadvantage, use your inspiration or take the chest with you and try later. And the roll is using your thieves' tool proficiency for disable traps and to open the lock.

OOC: Once she hears the quaggoths about to break free, Surana is going to grab the lone pack left in the upstairs room and rush downstairs. When she gets there, she's going to bolt the eastern door and pull one of the pins for its bridge, asking the strongest NPCs to help with the other three.

[roll0]

After pulling up the pin, she's going to tie one of the 100' ropes to whatever looks sturdiest and throw the other end out the north-facing arrow slit, telling the NPCs to start climbing down it as soon as they're ready.

With such a great roll, I think I'll choose to use my inspiration! If I'm not mistaken, that cancels the disadvantage (because advantage + disadvantage = no adv or disadv).
After that, opening the lock, with disadvantage... [roll0] and [roll1]

Using the dagger, Erevan manages to manipulate the poison trap in such a way that it will not trigger again.

"Right, that trap won't bother us," the elf informs his companion. "Now, let's get this baby open and see what treasures await..."
