[section]Cass gaped. Just a little. He would never have thought to throw the precious vial at the moldy door. He'd been planning on avoiding the moldy door entirely. Sheep. I'm just a sheep. I would've done just as the herd had done, and gone west or south. Cass frowned in frustration. These people are smarter than me. He eyed Dear Silhouette's rear end. More exotic. His eyes flicked to Nelleon. Special. What in the Nine Hells am I doing here? Rolling his shoulders, Cass grunted. He hefted his sword and prepared to--once again--follow after the others. Through the western door, apparently. In spite of a irritation and a growing headache, Cass felt excitement curl itself into a queer little knot in his belly.[/section]

Armides Diat, human Inquisitor of Asmodeus

[section]
Armides falls in with Nelleon (he can't quite reconcile calling the man Lord Nelleon just yet) determined to distinguish himself during this insane foray into the Cardinal's basement.

"You saw nothing untoward about this door?" he questions Cass. He moves to open it pausing only for Cass' answer.

Armides Diat, human Inquisitor of Asmodeus

Armides nods. "Ah. Well, considering it had some muck-thing on it, probably better you didn't then."

Armides delays opening the door just yet. He examines it first and if he finds nothing that strikes him as particularly out of the ordinary he'll open it. He is in a bit of a hurry to get this over with and does barely more than a cursory examination.

Armides finds no traps on the door. Beyond is yet another hallway. This one turns immediately left. Looking around the corner it continues south and then turns again to the east.

You can take 20 on Perception since there is no direct adverse effects from failure.

"Odd these corridors twisting thus," Lord Nelleon says as he examines the sections where the tunnel turns sharply.

OOC: Nelleon doesn't insist on anyone calling him a lord, especially since his position was lost when condemned. However, it helps me think about the man's noble bearing and so I like to type it out. :)

Taking 20 when examining the places where the tunnel turns.

Leading the way and thoroughly searching each turn, Nelleon moves forward followed by the others. The hallway turns south and heads south for about 30 feet. Then it turns east and heads east for about 35 feet. Then it turns northeast and heads northeast for about 20 feet. Then it turns north and heads north for about 20 feet. A door is on the east wall of the hallway near the end. The door is plain wood with yet another inscription: "Know your enemy. Shatter all that blinds you and then burn thy adversary to ashes." He finds nothing at any of the turns in the hallway.

[section]Cass hastened after Nelleon and whomever else cared to investigate the maze of corridors beyond the moldy door. When the group stopped at the door on the east wall of the hallway leading northeast, Cass stood back a bit and peered at the door and the floor in front of it. "Another door." The stunted obviousness of that statement hung awkwardly in the air. [/section]
