Surprise Round

After a few moments Blackerly and the two guards come up the stairs and head toward the cell block.

Blackerly : "Now remember, do not kill him. We have to subdue him. If he dies, Mathias will not be pleased."

The two guards just nod and grunt.

As they approach the door (which is slightly ajar) Blackerly hangs back allowing his men to be in the lead.

The lead guard is just reaching for the door.

Post your actions in a "If-then-else" format so that if your initiative come up and your target is down I can still complete the round.
This is a surprise round.
Blackerly and the guards seem unaware of any problems.

Guards are equiped like the others and have their clubs ready.
Blackerly is wearing chainmail under his uniform and has a longsword ready.

Blackerly and the guards have a flat-footed AC is 16.

[sblock=OOC]initiative 3. What about light and fire around. Are the guards carrying torches or are their some on the walls? I'm thinking about using the Arson Call Fire ability.[/sblock]

Waking Dad - assume there are several torches in sconces and one is on the wall in front of guard 1.

Piston Honda - assume that will work.

Skalis steps into the doorway, using his massive frame to knock the door completely open, he jabs his sword into the guard that had been reaching for the door.

Silhouette waits where she is, since she can't see the guards around the corner and through the door. She keeps ready to try to intervene should the need present itself.

(Delaying action to cast a spell if a guard comes in and is not dead by the end of the round)

Armides, having readied his bow, swiftly releases the arrow. Unfortunately the arrow zips over Blackerly's shoulder, past the two guards and sticks quivering in the door. He curses under his breath.

"Now, Grumblejack! Smash!"

Grumblejack moves forward and punches Blackerly with his large fists connecting. Blackerly is clearly surprised by the turn of events.

Skalis steps into the doorway, using his massive frame to knock the door completely open, he jabs his sword into the guard that had been reaching for the door. The guard is visibly disturbed by the turn of events.

Asseni reaches out with his hand and the fire from the torch in front of the guard that just got stabbed by Skalis streaks toward the priest in a thin ribbon. The first guard is able to dodge the the ribbon but the second is not as fortunate and gets burned.
