Just occurred to me that casters up against creatures with SR constantly might benefit from a feat that allowed their spells to pierce SR with more frequency.
Suppose a feat gave a caster +3 to pierce SR for every level they cast the spell at higher than the usual level. For instance, one could cast Hold Monster as a 7th level spell and get +9 on his SR check.
What do you think? Unbalanced? It's not as though they still don't get a saving throw. Though Enervates that always pierced might get kind of scary, I s'pose.
