If I did this to you as a DM, would you be upset or intrigued?

I could stand it for a single one session adventure but I wouldn't paticuarly enjoy it.

It doesn't make sense to loose all of your class abilities logically only physical stats/gear and arguably (either way) hit points would change. So that'd just be alot of paper work. So it's easier just to go with swapping character sheets.

And also what if during the course of the adventure your body gets killed because of a careless person controlling it? I'd be majorly pissed in and slightly less out of game then.

Touching my character is almost as bad as someone touching my dice.

As I said, it won't work for every group. :)

See for the group I play in, when our bodies were swapped, ressurection magic didn't exist in the world. So death was permanent if it happened. We had several sessions of good gaming like that. Hmm, roughly 2-3 months real time? I don't remember clearly.

As I said, our group composition worked fairly well. (We even had an NPC that was travelling with us who was subjected to the same situation.) It gave us some very interesting character development and RP. For our group, it was fairly successful. But it wouldn't be for every group.
