If you campaign had introductory text a la Star Wars..

"In a small world full of hatred and tyranny, life was never an easy thing to keep.

But now, as the ruthless empire is more and more decrepit and obsession-driven, as powerful hags have started again to disrupt travel through the wilderness, as the dreadful grey orcs of Kaztengarken are raiding ever farther to the glory of their sentient city, as fell chthonian beasts are invading the surface, as the foul and enigmatic nethergods are spreading their cults, and as the moongods are sending more and more of their faithful in quest to discover what is happening, well...

It's becoming really difficult."

EPISODE I

SWORDS AGAINST THE CULT

It is the dawn of a new age in the Forgotten Realms. The Time of Troubles has been over for more than a decade, leaving Faerun in a much different state than it used to be.

Even as the nations of man, elf, and dwarf strive to rebuild their realms and defend their borders from attacks by the ever-present savage humanoids, secretive organizations are plotting to undermine the forces of good and subjugate all of Faerun to their will.

One such organization is the Cult of the Dragon, who have discovered the location of a young man capable of weilding the powerful force known as Spellfire...

Well, it does talk about archmages, which are a prestige class in the Forgotten Realms. And we all know that Nightfall's favorite campaign setting is the Forgotten Realms, so there you have it! :D

For that I must kill you Darrin.... :p :) You too Trick.

No seriously I think Ni has a slight point. Two of my campaigns have epic level wizard telling the party what to do. Only in Hollowfaust did they not have that problem. Probably because they are LOTS of little but powerful wizards telling them what do it. ;)

Camera pans across a majestic cityscape dominated by an enormous Romanesque palace compound. Cut to wide shot of thousands of troops in formation. Cue "Movie Trailer Guy"

In a world where the law of God is enforced with an iron fist...

Cut to map of the continent with dark red clearly indicating the extent of the empire's control. Cut to close up of a woman's feet. A small flame appears beneath her, and the camera pans out to show her tied to a stake as the flames begin to lick at her toes.

Where the dogma is strict....and the penalty for heresy even stricter...

Cut to a semicircle of blue-robed mages blasting a child with eldritch energy as he tries to run away. Cut to the interior view of a door, which is thrown open to reveal two legionairres flanking a red-robed man, who calls fire from the sky to smite a group of peasants cowering in prayer.

Where the last followers of false gods and vile demons have been wiped out like a plague....

Cut to a man in black armor, mounted on a jet black steed. As he waves a flaming sword in the air, the music takes on a more somber tone.

He swears an oath in an unknown language and charges, and the camera pans out to show the horde of orcs charging behind him.

Where men and nations hang their destinies on the strength of a warrior's blade....

Cut to an obviously frightened hero nervously holding a rope and looking down at the window of a nearby building. He closes his eyes and jumps.

a few brave souls are going to learn true strength comes... from faith.

"Oh please oh please oh please oh please" is heard as the man swings down towards the building, and he crashes through the window as the announcer says "faith."

Music becomes more heroic.

Cut to battle scene as a pair of dwarven warrirors lock blades with rampaging orcs.

Cut to the deck of a ship, the music continuing its intense tone as we are treated to a display of swordplay.

Cut to the flames on the stake rising higher, the woman writhing in pain as they begin to burn her flesh.

Cut to a grand ballroom, courtiers in their finery dancing in full pageantry.

Cut to an elven fencer matching steel with the red-robed man from earlier.

Cut to cannons firing off the side of a ship, their charges glowing with scintillating runes.

Cut to the earlier scene of the map, but parts of it are on fire.

Cut to a man leaping onto his horse, turning only to fire a blast of lightning from his fingertips as he speeds away

Cut to a wide shot as the orcish horde clashes with the imperial troops.

Cut to a woman bursting free of her bonds on the stake, hovering in the air, and hurling frightened soldiers in all directions with the force of her mind.

Cut to a man running at supernatural speeds down a passage as the floor rapidly collapses beneath him. He jumps from wall to wall and almost seems to dart from shadow to shadow, narrowly avoiding death.

Cut to a line of hobgoblin archers releasing a hail of arrows which fly towards the advancing orc hordes.

Cut to a woman pulling our nervous hero into a passionate kiss.

End music. Fade to black.

Cut to a very dark room, where the sounds of frightened praying are heard. As lightning illuminates the room, we see a figure drop from the ceiling and plunge his blade into a priest's chest. The room fades to black again, and then we see his orange-tinted eyes open wide. He whispers hoarsely, "I believe."

Yep, well done, Meepo.

By the way, I actually did this with a mini-Scarred Lands campaign I did. I rounded up alot of images from the various SL books, copied them and organized them 2-3 on paper. I then wrote little quotes underneath, either as "the movie trailer narrotor guy" or the NPC's themselves. I then got a nice piece of Movie trailer music, 2 minutes long, and told my players to gather around the session before. I then let them look at the compilation for the length of the music. I then took all the copies back because I did include a few spoilers in the quotes a few of the NPC's were saying (I had a general idea of where the campaign might lead), and I've never let them look at it again.

Hey, what can I say, I like gimmicks. :)

And in one campaign you had a 17th-level yourself telling them what to do...

Episode II: The Imperial Invasion

Over a thousand years have passed since the Kingdom of
Schwass conquered the Frennic nation and assumed
dominance over all of the Continent of Aron.

Sloth began to set in over the years, and the people of Schwass
became weak, both physically and spiritually. And so, when the
Empires of Zthpka and Balack landed their ships on Aron, the
Schwass were powerless to stop them.

The people of Schwass, in a panic over what to do, looked to
their past, when they were a nation of warriors and fighters.
They began to learn the old arts of fighting and warfare, of
strategy and tactics.

Now they have the strength to drive the invaders off the
continent. To achive this, however, they need support within
both the conquered cities and the new colonies.

To this end, the Chancellor has sent a party of spies into the city
of Heidenheim to stir up dissent and to destroy the command
centre and communication hub there...</div>
