if you could run or play in ANY campaign RIGHT now...

look in the Gamers Seeking Gamers forum on most D&D message boards. :D

i'm playing it. and enjoying the heck out of it.

OD&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just poor imitations of the real thing. :D

I do really want to play OD&D again, but Atlanta is kind of too far across the Atlantic for a game.

Run:

Deadlands (Classic or Savage Worlds): Still the best game and setting out there for my money. I'd run this at every opportunity I had.

Savage Worlds: A homebrew Fireflyesque sci-fi game.

Angel: The sequel to my Buffy game set in St. Louis in 1999. The game would take place in present day and catch up with the characters (who we last left trapped in a demon dimension at the end of that season).

D&D 3.5: Eberron. I'm actually going to get to do this real soon.

Play:

More Orpheus: My GM converted Orpheus to the new ST system and we're having a blast with it.

Savage Worlds: Either Evernight or 50 Fathoms. Both look fantastic.

A "dawn of time" D&D game with Nephilim-style celestials/fiends still walking the non-earth before the existance of the deities' planes.

Hopefully I would use D20 Modern, D20 Future (to simulate game mechanics for some "magic" abilities), Urban Arcana (for spellcasting classes), and the upcoming D20 Past. If possible, I'd add in ritual magic (Unearthed Arcana) and/or D20 Call of Cthulhu magic for anyone who wants to take the risk using it.

And lastly, all races that I kept in the world (including low INT races like Orcs, Goblins, Kobolds, Giants, etc) would have unique cultures and be "civilized" in their own way. Outsider (angel/demon/elemental/fey) bloodlines would feature prominently. The average civilization would be city-states prior to the explosion into Empires (such as Rome) and with a glimpse of the Golden Age of Civilization just beyond the horizon (and beyond the scope of the game).

Play: 1st edition AD&D or if I had to play 3e, a Midnight or Scarred Lands game,
or maybe a Midnight Scarred Lands game!

Run: 1st editon or C&C.

I'm in one of my two dream games, a Riddle of Midnight campaign I am DMing (Riddle of Steel system in the Midnight campaign setting). That's going on now.

The other thing I would die to play is Fallout-style Post Apocalypse. A friend of mine is finally getting the Darwin's World II book (360+ pages, uses D20Modern) so I expect to begin shortly now that someone else will have the book :) Sadly I'll probably end up DMing, but them's the breaks.

any type of horror game using Call of Cthulhu, d20 Modern or my personal favorite, a hybrid of the two.

hybrid is good, Grim Tales is good (Grim Tales CoC?!)...but for what I want to play and run, and will start playing (by post) and running, its in the sig.

I'd like to run a swashbuckling pirate game set in Freeport. Actually, if the player's come together like I expect I'll be able to run that game in the Spring. Poor little pirates. They'd like to spend all their time sailing the seven seas, raiding ports, seizing ships, and wooing women. Unfortunately they keep getting stuck trying to save their home, their ship, and their souls from scheming cultists trying to call up horrors from beyond. Life just isn't fair.

I'd like to play an Eberron campaign. I've got an idea for Kalashtar Psion, kind of a pulp detective who uses his mental powers to solve mysteries. He's really clever when it comes to finding clues, but he's always falling for the wrong dame, and the poor guy doesn't realize that he's a Thrallherd. He thinks that people are always helping him or telling him their secrets because of his innate charm. In fact it's because they can't help themselves. He would also give me an excuse to pull in a never ending series of sidekicks and partners (thralls), a perfect opportunity to try out all the other cool character options that Eberron offers.

Thieves World, but why wait? I have the old TW books and they are as good and useful today as they were back then. I have campaign and character notes from past games, and laminated maps of the city and sewers. I so want to run a TW game, but alas I have no players who want to...... :(
Play by post?

Play:
TW, any ruleset
Lankhmar
Conan d20

Run:
1e AD&D Greyhawk, as I have mentioned in other threads, I am starting after the first of the year.
