I would like to run The Gates of Firestorm Peak. Either 2E w/Player's Options or Converted to 3E Pathfinder or Trailblazer (Trailblazer is pretty nifty by the way). I would build set pieces for all the locations and have miniatures to represent every creature in the adventure. I would also borrow a digital projector and set it up so that I could have lighting effects on all the set pieces.

And then stock my place with good beer and munchies.

Honestly? I'd probably procrastinate.

But assuming I was actually productive that's a toughie. Of the top of my head trying to run some kind of hyper accelerated conquer the world campaign might be interesting. I'm not sure how I'd do it, but I could probably figure it out in a year.

Wait till the 364th night to plan the game, hehe.

Let's see, what would I do.

I would probably plan a game that skipped through time... basically an encounter or so in each of a few different periods of time. The game might begin with the players as children, then jump ahead to teens, jump ahead to early 20's then maybe go up to 40's or so, and then finally end in some epic battle against the bully next door when they were kids who is now some insane villain.

But who knows, that's a lot of time to plan 1 weekend of gaming ;)

---edit---

I see everyone would wait till the last minute ;)

Write a conclusion to my epic trilogy of one-shots I sometimes refer to as "Wuxia Super-Heroes." Take advantage of the multiple-day gaming format to really do it justice.

Ok, I have to admit, that really is my style. I'm trying to avoid that.
On a more serious note, I am nowhere near focused enough to plan anything that far in advance. For my fairly deep and plot-heavy Call of Cthulhu game, I've found that anything longer than 4 weeks is counterproductive. I'll start working on something I think is great, but if I take too long at it, I get bored with my previous (though probably workable) idea and change it up, or put it on the back-burner for a later session and restart from scratch.

It depends on the kind of planning. I have nearly all the Skeleton Key eAdventure Tile sets, for example, Photoshop, a wide plotter, and my projector.

So I could get a lot of cool maps done in a year. As in, every square inch.

If I knew what I wanted to run/play.

And honestly, part of this exercise is to determine the kinds of stuff that should be planned way out, and what stuff can wait until the night before.
