I'm not ashamed! (Simple Life)

Ok, I watched it...and it was funny! While the two ladies were funny because of their interesting perspectives on life, I thought that the choice of music and "slo-mo's" throughout the show were absolutely histerical. The creepy music as the old lady cleaned the chickens...the quick shots of headless chickens and cleavers...

hehehe...funny stuff.

Anybody else watch it? (It's ok, you can admit it...it doesn't mean you're stupid)

Yeah, it was on right before 24, so a lady friend and I talked and watched it together.

Our general comments: Not as bad as I thought it would be and Paris does look different with her clothes on. :p

But no less insipid.

Aaargh! A perfect example of why I hate reality TV, although my wife, bless her heart, always has them on. Why in the world those two girls would consent to show the entire world what skanky, spoiled bitches they are is totally beyond me.

That's why I actually enjoyed it. The normal people aren't being shown to be freaks, or stupid; they're just normal folks. It's Paris who's really being mocked, and that's darn funny. :)

It was nice to see that Nicole (?) was actually kind and polite - she thanked the family 2 or 3 times. I'm not sure that Paris did at all.

I watched it, and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I think PCat's on the ball about why it works. It's the socialites who are being made fun of, not the rest of the people on the show. At the same time, it seems fairly good-natured mockery for the time being, which is the way I prefer it.

Nicole had her moments of bone-headed spoiled bratness too. When they were shopping, and didn't have enough cash to buy all stuff they wanted (great lines too, "What's generic mean?" "I don't know.") Nicole asked if the cashier wouldn't just give the rest of it to them. He said, "This isn't a soup kitchen" and later in the car, Nicole asked what a soup kitchen was. I don't think Paris knew the answer to that either.

Then when the two of them were talking to the teenage son, and he went back inside to get a jacket, what was Nicole said about him? "He's cute. We should have a three-way with him." :o

The show busted my skank-o-meter big time.

Sudenly my decision to watch some movie on FX in the same timeslot about a kid, a lawyer, and the mafia sounds pretty good...

Polite? Damn man, her first question at dinner was; "So do you all hang out at Wal-Mart?" I don't think either of them knew what Wal-Mart was. Talk about out of touch.

Sounds like my decision to get rid of my TV 6 years ago was a good one, too. ;)
