Hardcover all the way (even though it would be close to 55$ CAN)

Appreciate the interest! :)

Always Krusty mate. Always! Btw, you got mail. I'd like your input as always.

Yeah just checked it. I'll give it a glance but I am ready for bed (after 2am here) I wanted to go to bed at 12 but replies kept on appearing so... :D

I checked off Hard copy and "I'm not interested in rp-ing deities." If I were interested, I'd want a hardcopy. But thats just due to lack of a credit card/ paypal account/ other reasonable way to buy stuff online.

Well, yeah...

It was just a fear of mine. Now that that fear's been aleviated, I can rest easily. Deities and Demigods was still on my to-buy list for the simple reason that it included rules on how to design deities, not just scads of deity information...

Since Immortals doesn't include pantheon-specific stuff, it's a safe bet for me. I probably won't buy it (no real interest in playing deities), but I'd encourage it being made. :)

Well it's 2 here, so I hope you got SOME sleep. ;) Anyway, I'll wait for your email soon. I hope you like it.

In fact, when I redesigned the format recently I sliced the book into three sections - a (very) rough approximation of the core rulebooks.

"The Power & the Glory"

Chapters 1-5 comprise 91 pages

Faith; Divinity; Portfolios; Powers and Feats.

"Forever & Ever"

Chapters 6-11 comprise 90 pages

Pantheons; Prestige Classes; Magic; Realms; Campaigns and Adventure.

"Amen"

Chapters 12-13 comprise 91 pages

Magic Items; Monsters and Appendices

Now that's more interesting, bite size chunks.

"Amen" sounds like it could be done as a second book and isn't needed to run a campaign as such.

I've voted unillustrated .pdf and 'hardcopy', but i'm most likely to wait for the 'hardcopy' - I simply like it better to have a printed book in my hands.

Personally I think the monsters and magic items section could be done as a different book.
I disagree with that - I want a complete book on Divine Roleplaying, and mosters and magic items (or at least magic items - you don't want to let Thor run around with a simple +1 warhammer, right ;) ) are an integral part of it. How would you feel if you bought a book and integral parts would be missing?

There are plenty enough powerful magic items in the DMG.

Sure you could have design rules for divine artifacts but page on page of examples isn't needed in a core book.

Hi guys! :)

Thanks for the replies!

What the midget just said!.

I fully concur that Epic/Immortal gaming is definately a niche market and certainly not for everyone.

Though this in itself is one of the reasons the Immortals Handbook transcends previous immortal rules since it advocates (and explains how) to extend the campaign to cover roleplaying: low-level worshippers; mid-level servants; high-level disciples as well as (of course) the deities themselves. Each element becomes relevant to the whole; each adding a focus to the other. So its far from the oft perceived notion of just bigger and 'badder' characters. Its all about interaction; and through that roleplaying.

Regarding the market for Epic/Immortal gaming I would anticipate it lies between 10-20% of gamers.
