In-game adventuring advice

What in-game advice would one hear at an adventurer's gathering? Say a new group of adventurers were visiting the local tavern where a lot of experienced adventurers hang out. What would they learn there?

Note that I'm asking for in-game adventuring advice, not *game* advice.

knowledge (something)... silver for lycanthropes, wooden stakes for vampires, watch out for ghouls touch, use fire on trolls....etc..

Don't specialize. Always carry things like rope, lanterns, glowrods, and plenty of food - even if you know you have the magical means to not need those things. In my world, veterans tend to be those who stick to tried and true methods, especiially when it comes to survival; like Boy Scouts with weapons ;)

Places to advenute at...and the dangers in them.

Obituaries - Ranger Bob died last week, black dragon took him out in the swamps of doom.

Boots - can't go wrong with a good pair of walking boots, don't forget extra socks! Leather oil, keeps water out of your shoes...

Door wedges, lots of them, don't want a door closing behind you!

Can anyone come up with some good "D&D rhymes", for safety tips?

Things like:

"Red on Black is good for Jack; Red on Yellow will kill a fellow"?
"Red at night, sailor's delight; red at morning, sailors take warning"?

only with D&D monsters, traps, etc.? Seems like human nature being what it is, mnemonic tips similar to these would also be prevalent too. Something like,

"If the skin is green and bones re-knit,
Fire's the way to be rid of it?"

Watch out for dwarf beer, it packs a punch and an axe! The best beer always comes from the mountains, yo don't see it too much anymore...
