In the Name of the King

so, any hope that "in the name of the king, a dungeonsiege tale" will be any good? The trailers and ads don't give me complete confidence, but it doesn't look terrible either. Make your predictions!

I say it makes modest money, but does not generate a new series.

Remember though, this guy made Ben Kingsley look bad. The better they are, the harder they fall.

I looked at the trailer on youtube, and while some of the graphical effects look pretty good, I did not find much of it impressive. The ridiculously named Farmer wears his same rags throughout it seems, and relies on martial arts rash than swords and shields the the hero in Dungeon Siege does. Anyone who watches the movie and then plays the game is going to be having a serious, " What the hell? " moment, and vice versa.

:roll eyes: And Jason Statham wonders why he isn't a bigger action star in the US... How could he be, when he stars in crap such as this.

It's a mystery why any semi-reputable actor would be in this movie. The dialogue from the trailer is hilariously bad. I predict that it will suck, very very hard.

I do recall the original Dungeon Siege hero started out doing some serious pitchfork-fu at the start of the game. Maybe that's where it's coming from?

I'd say it'd be fairly hard to make a fantasy film that won't "suck", judging from what I read on fantasy boards. The trailer seems to take itself seriously, so I think there's *some* chance it will be a decent movie. It could also make Rocky 5 look good...

Boll already explained his modus operandi. He waits until the last minute, then calls up actors who have holes in their schedules. Since they'd be doing nothing, why not travel to Eastern Europe, play dress up and have fun, and get paid for it?
