Information Request: Psionics

captnq

First Post
Hi. Either post here, or PM me, I do not care.

To Anyone and everyone who has ever SEEN a thread, Blog, Post, whatever about psionics, please post the link. (NO 2nd/3rd party material please)

Psionic handbooks
Threads where people asked questions about psionics.
Threads with psionic builds
Threads about psionics rule combos.
Suggestions for running psionics.

If you have actual psionic powers, I don't want to know.

Perhaps if you could provide some specific insight as to what you're wanting the information for, I could feel more helpful. Your request is as broad as it gets for one topic.

Are you a DM wanting to include Psionics in a campaign?
Are you a player wanting to build a Psionic character?

I am finding challenging to fulfill your request, because it would take me a lot of time and brain power to locate everything I've ever seen on Psionics. I could find you the best of something specific, but I cannot grant you your request as it stands.

Captnq is intentionally vague on this because he's doing a "kitchen sink" sort of project that compiles massive amounts of data I believe.

In short, he's neither a DM nor a player: He's a database creator.

You would be correct.

It's a gift of mine. I can read fast and filter massive amounts of info. Don't ask how, it's just a thing I do. I can get the raw in the book data, but opinions, observations, problems, and that sort of thing require more research. This is just my latest project.

Hrmm.... Interesting link. Don't like the spelling, though. Psionomicon? I may steal that.

I understand threads that compile data, I've made one or two, and I appreciate their existence.

However, usually the thread's creator begins by having done a lot of legwork on the front end. Then the rest of us, seeing how much work has already been done, get excited and contribute. I would be much more likely to add to a ball that is already rolling, than be asked by someone else to start and do it all for them.

I dearly hope you don't mean "do it all for them" to actually be pull all the discussion about psionics ever and deliver it in a nice package.

All he's asking is we toss something in that we feel is worth tossing in. And yes, the ball has already begun rolling because the same post is on at least one other forum and that does have responses (including my own.)

And trust me, if he did post what info he already gathered I'd bet it'd have to be a PDF like his other projects.

My group isn't fond of psionics, but we have one player who loves them and asks to include them in every game. Finally, we agreed.

For the first two sessions, he used 'detect hostile intent' on every single NPC encountered, at every single interaction. No matter how friendly they seemed.

Then the PCs were called to a war council with the King. There was a knock at the door, it was one of the courtiers, who proceeded to walk into the room, draw a poisoned knife, and fatally stab the king.

Guess who forgot to detect hostile intent? :D

(You probably aren't looking for anecdotes, but I couldn't help but share the memory. Whenever I hear psionics, that's what I think of.)
