Pathfinder 1E [INTEREST/RECRUIT] - Crowns of Ice

My initial take was that:

1) Dad was NOT with her. He sent men to escort her to the new land. She should have two handmaids - which I meant to ask NPC wise do you want me to make or you AB - and otherwise some men. Wedding would not have to necessarily take place right away so Dad would not have to be there.

2) Brothers capture ship. Yay for Viking raiding! :-o

3) I believe Thorir was planning on ransoming Astrid and this was important to the storyline I don't actually know exactly why and Fenris has informed me he didn't get around to discussing this with you AB so big apologies there for confusion.

4) Dad would obviously come POST HASTE to kill and maim but it would give Astrid the appropriate amount of story time with Eben and Thorir to learn what she needs to so that by the time Dad arrives violence will not occur and they will work together as one big happy family... minus the fact that Daddy probably wants to kill the father of his grandchild...

That is MY take on this. Otherwise Jago stated it perfectly.

Because deep down they're really good guys? Despite being pirates? Have you seen their Alignments? >.>

Work with me here, tglassy, what could be used to convince Alec that though his daughter was captured, Thorir and Eben don't actually mean him or the girl harm? Thorir's Reputation as a Sea King? The fact that Alec knows Eben? Something else?

She could do a Pocahontas thing and throw herself in front of them before he goes dragon on them?

This is how I see it all playing out. What y'all don't know is that Alec has a Familiar. And it's a Hawk. And it's been following Astrid around since she was born. So there isn't much that Alec doesn't know about. But it did see her get caught, and flew back to tell Alec. During the time it takes Alec to get to her, she's already agreed to stay with them, and then Alec comes bursting in, ready to take some heads before Astrid stops him and convinces him that they need his help.

Or how about this. The Hawk sees what happened, and that she knows who he is and is safe. Alec comes anyway, and just shows up at their door (or on their ship), glaring at the pirates, wanting to make sure Astrid is safe. It would be astounding how much he knows already, since no one knows he has a familiar, or that it's a hawk.

It could even be a source of constant frustration for Astrid, that her dad always seems to know what's going on.

I kinda like the Pocahontas analogy. It would make a lot of sense that it's Astrid, out of all of them, that calms everyone down and lets cooler heads prevail, that's a great take on it and especially on her character as a healer and peacemaker.

Queenie, what say you?

No problem, Queenie! Sorry for my part as well, guys! I've been re-reading the stories - seven pages - to define the prologue! I'll fix all details after I return home and we set a few details more! :)

We have given you so much work ._.

Lol, thanks for being an awesome GM and working with our backstories. I'm sure I speak for everyone in how high the excitement is for this game!

Yes, you gotta leave it up to Astrid to fix it by the time Dad shows up ;)

Tglassy mostly hit it on the head. Alec and Astrid NEED Thorir and Even and their men... Astrid was counting on Einar's men to help her move forward with her plans and when she eventually finds out what was planned her and Dad will be on the Brothers side.

We don't need to have everything figured out today. We just need a liitttllee bit of time for Astrid to get this figured out. If Dad was there, heads should have rolled, and it would have been more difficult to move forward peacefully. Imoho of course ;)
