Intimidating Strike and Cause Fear, do they stack?

Well, this issue is being debated in our group currently. I don't have my books with me so I can't look up the specific wording. I know that Intimidating strike can't make an already shaken opponent turn frightened. But what if the opponent is hit with Intimidating strike first and then fails his save vs. Cause Fear. Currently in our group we have a Knight with IS and my Dread Necro can cast Cause Fear, we have used it before to great effect but now we are looking into the mechanics more.

Just wanting ENners opinions on the matter.

Cheers,

The problematic line of text is:

You cannot use this feat to worsen an opponents condition beyond shaken.

This is all the feat says about stacking it with effects. Does that mean it doesn't stack with anything? Or does that mean effects after the strike can worsen the condition, but intidating strike has no effect on already shaken creatures.

Anybody else want to chime in? Blarg had mentioned that 3.5 D&D doesn't really have an order of operation, just weither or not things stack together.

Thoughts?
