Into Khybers Gate

"Of course, you'll find many exotic goods here. Please, enter." He steps aside and gestures for you to enter. Inside the shop is illuminated by a handful of colored globes hanging from the ceiling. They give off a mix of red and blue light. The walls are lined with shelves along with a few free standing shelves in the middle of the room. They are stacked with jars, bundles of dried herbs, and an odd assortment of objects. The air is thick with numerous odors. A metal creature, shaped like a dog walks a pattern on the floor between the shelving. It pauses to eye each of you in turn, then to look at its master who waves a hand signal at it, before it returns to its patrol. A large counter takes up one part of the wall near the door where a short creature, no more than a foot tall, is busy mixing fluids in tubes over a series of plates that glow red from flameless heat. Johanel whispers to you, "Homonuculi, they serve as craftsmen, guards, and in other functions."

Cask follows you in, the harpy close behind. She stands off to the side and browses the shelves though she keeps her eye on Cask. Cask in turn eyes her briefly before turning back to you. "As you can see, this is the finest stocked shop in all of Sharn. What sort of product are you looking for? Laskin Horn? Dragonseye acorns? Bloodspikes? If you're looking for something specific don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise feel free to browse the shelves."

"Impressive shop." Sedar remarks as he casually glances over the interior, eyes out for danger. And impressive security, he silently adds. Not everyone can afford a construct guardian. Especially in neighbourhoods like this. "I'm certain you will find what you seek, master." he says to Bloodtalon.

Bloodtalon looks around at the various chemicals and alchemical mixtures available but sighs, "I'm afraid that what I am looking for would not be something so casually laid out in front of us."

"Ahhh, well I am confident I will be able to find anything you need. Beyond the extensive collection you see here, I have connections with numerous other shops and can locate even the most exotic items." The harpy that followed you in continues to idly poke and examine things on the shelves while staying close by to eavesdrop. Cask makes a slight motion at his metal dog who then adjusts its patrol to keep a watchful eye on the harpy.
The other homonuculi, a dedicated wright, stopped to look at you a moment when you entered but quickly got back to work. One of the bottles it was mixing begins to smoke. It plucks the bottle off of the heater and tosses it from hand to hand while emitting a high pitched keening sound. Cask excuses himself for a moment to dart over and grab a cloth and pluck the hot bottle from the wright and set it aside. Johanel studies the two creatures with obvious interest while Bloodtalon and Sedar talk.

While Cask turns to deal with the homonculous, Bloodtalon turns to address his friends and is suprised to find that the harpy has followed them into the shop. "I am sorry, I did not know that you had business here as well. Please go ahead of us, we can certainly wait while Mr. Cask takes care of your request." he will then wait to see if she makes a move. If not then he'll wait patiently for her to exit.

The harpy jumps and looks at you guiltily for a moment before turning to Cask. "Yess, I buy somethings." She moves over and whispers something low to Cask. He says something back to her in a low voice.

"You have black blood of dragon, yess? I take some, have money."
"We can deal, I have some fresh supplies. The price is 240."

She moves over to the counter and leans over then begins coughing and retching. The harpy regurgitates onto the counter, covering it with a disgusting mess of bile. Mixed in with the fluid though are several glinting coins. With obvious disgust, Cask signals his dedicated wright who sets aside its mixtures and ambles over to begin cleaning off the coins with a cloth. When the last coin is cleaned and stacked, the wright wiggles its fingers at Cask to signal the amount. Cask turns and frowns at the Harpy. "It is not enough, where is the rest?" The harpy hisses back in response but says nothing. Cask points at her and then at the door. "Get out of my shop and don't come back unless you can pay." She screeches at him in response, "I needs it! Its been dayss, give me ssome!" Cask makes a signal at his metal dog who in turn advances menacingly. The harpy screeches again before snatching her coins off the table and beating a hasty retreat. She slams the door loudly behind her as she exits. Cask goes over and bolts the door once more and mutters under his breath, "Addicts"

"That is just sick." says Bloodtalon still using his middle duran accent. "Addicts indeed." he adds shaking his head (which is still covered).

"Exotic is definitely in our request, some what questionable as well. We are interested in a formula rather than a product in and of it self." says Bloodtalon, hoping to bait Cask with a hint rather than asking for it outright.

Cask's eyes narrow suspiciously as he regards Bloodtalon. "Indeed. Formulas, in my business, are as closely guarded as a wizards book of spells. Should a competitor get his hands on them he could try to match my superior products. For a simple, common recipe I might be willing to part with a few tips for the right price."
