Iron Armbands of Power and Item Bonus Stacking?

I don't understand how 3rd edition players don't understand how 4th edition bonus stacking works. It's the same damn rule, exactly, and works -exactly- the same way. The only difference is that the types of bonuses use a different and shorter list.

And there are no exceptions, like dodge bonuses (dodge boni?).

I'm not sure what's so confusing about this statement that it gets so many questions, but [W] just represents the dice (you know those little polyhedrons we roll with numbers or pips on them). Nothing else.

100% correct. Moreover, if anyone still finds the rules vague, the example of damage calculation on the same page clearly spells it out: Valenae has a +7 bonus to damage (+3 Str, +2 feat, +2 enhancement). When she uses a longsword to make a 2[W] attack, she inflicts 2d8+7 damage, not 2d8+14.

Keep in mind that whenever you roll dice - be it one or more - for a given purpose (to determine damage, if an attack hits, or if you shake off a save-ends effect) it's considered a roll. Bonus dice for a roll, such as those granted by the Hunter's Quarry or Warlock's Curse features are considered part of that roll.

So, the Iron Armbands of Power only grant their bonus to a damage roll once, not once for each die rolled. Also, notice that the Armbands only provide this bonus to melee attacks. That is attacks that have a range indication of Melee. They do NOT confer the bonus to Close burst or Close blast attacks, even if those only have a range of 1 or are performed with a melee weapon.
