Gotta agree with you both. This season really isn't grabbing my attention all that much. Still watching, but not particularly involved. I don't even recall the names of a lot of the contestants at this point. They all seem such poor players.

The only element that's really interested me this season was when the local native Vanuatan came to the women's camp and taught them how to utilize the resources around them. That was cool. Made me want to watch a reality show where contestants have to really "survive" in the wild with the help of the locals. Maybe PBS should cover this one. I'd love to see people living in the Mongolian steppes, shivering in their yurts, learning from the locals, etc.

Still digging it, overall.

None of the personalities have really grabbed me just yet but they usually don't until about the halfway point (which we are rapidly approaching). 18 people wasn't a good move, IMO. They should have stuck to the usual 16 as it gives the viewer less to concentrate on. Maybe that's just me.

Also, while I like looking at good-looking people the personalities could use a boost. I'm getting the feeling that unless a woman has a really good figure or a large (typically fake) bust then they won't make the cut. None of the women on this version are particularly entertaining with the possible exception of Eliza but that's probably just because she's a whiner and gets a little more camera time than the others. I'm hoping that the mixing of the tribes spices things up a bit.

There aren't any really good friendships/rivalries/good guys/villains this time around either. Chris was looking pretty good at the start but either they have been saving him for later or his scheming has died down. The merge should make things more interesting.

Oddly enough, I like the challenges this time around more than in recent seasons. But the contestants leave something to be desired thus far. For some reason it's still one of the shows I really look forward to every week...

Probst is the real star this season. He's laying the smack-down on the whiners. Unfortunately, some of the good looking women (eye-candy :) ) are gone. Previews for next week makes me want to see a Survivor: Vanuatu Uncensored, though, since most of the contestants still have a little meat on them, and the nude sun-bathing by the hottie is a sure way to either stay on, or get kicked off. On a tribe where men are the majority now, she's making the right move, for now.

never seen it, never will. I hate reality shows.

Now, if they put a bunch of lions, tigers, and crocodiles on the island and declared that the last one to go uneaten wins, I might watch it...
