D&D 4E Is liking 4E biased by how many books you own?

What's anti-4e?

Anti-4e (for me) = not ready for 4th edition at this time, and further not interested based on what we know about it so far.

So, easily 100+.

I'm likely for 4e.

My only concern is where to put my older books when they're not as necessary, as I live in an efficiency.

I own exactly 0 3.x books. I own some 1e, but it's only for nostalgia. Two things happened 1) I lost the ability to play with my face-to-face D&D group and 2) it was just too difficult for me to run online. So, I got into Savage Worlds.

4e might be the magic bullet to pull me into D&D again. From what I've read, I suspect it is.

I have alot of d20 products and yes some of my dislike of 4e has to do with my old books not being usable. However, I have seen like nothing of 4e I like, except maybe whats going on with the Realms.

I own just about every 3.x hardcover and softcover plus a bunch of DCC and Paizo modules; I've now stopped buying sourcebooks, but I will continue to purchase adventures since I love those things. And I didn't get into 3.x until the Spring of 2005. I'm psyched about 4e from what I've heard.

I don't know how many books I own, but it is well over 100.
I was very enthused about 4E when announced.

Now I'm concerned about some potential deal breaker bad ideas that are potentially floating in the mix.

So I don't know where it will go. But very clearly my 3X book collection has nothing to do with the answer.

I have far too many books, and will certainly buy the first three 4e books out of curiousity if nothing else.

But I suspect the more books you have purchased, the more likely it is that you are less discriminate about what you buy. I've bought some terrible things in the past, and though I'm more selective these days, sometimes I catch myself buying game books on impulse.

I have 13 books for 3.0/3.5, and that has nothing to do with my opinions on 4E.

On a similar note, I was nearly obsessive with White Wolf's revised edition of the Old World of Darkness. The number of books I had for the OWoD games' editions numbered in the hundreds. I was skeptical about the relaunch of the new setting and game system, but (much as when 3.0 D&D came out) I fell in love with the new book as soon as the new edition appeared on the bookshelf.

Spent money is spent money, however you look at it. Seeing the possibility of an interesting hobby fade away because of major marketing shifts is totally different.

Without looking at my shelf, I believe I own six D&D 3.0 books. Okay, I think one of them is a 3.5 book, but that is beside the point. I have practically no desire to see a new edition of D&D, especially not the edition they are promoting. I have not been impressed with what we have been shown so far, unlike how I felt at this point in the D&D 3.0 rollout. I feel I am not their target audience, as I am happy with what I currently have. If I had my choice this new edition would wait a couple more years, but that is not going to happen.
