Alignment disappeared from a 5e product or two and then came back.Am I too infer from this that you don't think the horse has left the barn. That WotC might change their minds back, and in 5.5 races will have fixed ASIs?

Absolutely. A lot of power creeps work in Hollywood and have finally been getting in trouble for it.do we have a good understanding of what power creep is?
There are many, many posts saying that people refuse to play race X because they didn't get a +2 in the primary ability of their chosen class. Now, you may not consider that to be about optimization but I think it's only because the word has been vilified.Well said. That’s another frequently misunderstood (and/or intentionally misrepresented) point.

People can't say "I refuse to play X if they're 5% less effective at some aspect." and then turn around and say "But it has nothing to do with effectiveness of the PC." Well, they can, but it's contradictory. If that 5% matters to you, there's nothing wrong with it. I've never seen the big deal but people have preferences and there's nothing wrong with it. Just fess up that you want your PC to be 5% more effective.![]()
100 divided by 20 is clearly not 5.
If maneuvers were core to fighters, then it would have cool to have combat maneuvers that key or used tertiary scores.I’ve been tinkering with something exactly like this, but it’s tricky to do without simply making the Fighter MAD.
No, that just happens sometimes. It's happened to me in the past just randomly. It's not some secret mod scheme to keep certain people from getting reactions or any other nonsense like that.Weird. I just liked a post, but when I went clicked the like button a new screen popped up and asked me to confirm that I was liking that post. It didn't ask me for the next post I liked. I wonder if the site is now tracking or trying to discourage liking some posts or posters.![]()
Alignment in D&D 5e has never had any actual mechanics attached to it, outside of a handful of magic items. Removing it and then adding it back into the game is waaaaay different from completely changing the current design approach to D&D 5e races, and racial ASIs are one of the main things that has changed with 5e since it first came out.Alignment disappeared from a 5e product or two and then came back.
