Its official: Eberron rocks

I can't believe it--my deflector shields were up on full, but after reading about the setting I was hooked as well. I can't put my finger on one thing in particular that captured my interest; the book is just full of cool new ideas, and some old ideas presented in a fresh way.

I hope there is, or will be, some nice maps available for the setting. A four-piece set in Dragon Magazine (like they did with the Forgotten Realms), would be perfect.

He made a tongue in cheek reference to a well known comic book character. That you didn't get the joke isn't his fault.

Now that I think about it, New York City actually has a whole bunch of monsters--scum in one taxi drivers words.

Ditto to this thread.

Was super skeptical, picked it up, was hooked, ran a game night in it three days later, all my players are totally intrigued. The simplest, and most cutting comment from one of my players:

"Of course! If magic is prevalent, it would automatically dominate commerce! I've always thought that was a hole."

I have to say, when I saw the title of the thread and the number of responses I was bummed... "Oh well, you can't please everyone." And needless to say, I know that a lot of people will think Eberron sucks. But I'm glad to hear that at least some of you are enjoying it.

I resisted the urge today...but only because I bought 4 Giants of Legend boxes...now, I can't be sure if I'll resist next time.

I was in a game store today and bought 2 boxes of GoL, and they both had Warforged Titans (despite the WT being rare). I've got the magic Eberron touch, I guess! Good thing I like the mini...

Lemme guess, then you walked a few dooors down and blew your $50 at Galaxy. Tell me I'm wrong.

:D

Couple of doors further on - Napoleon's has moved to the York St "geek strip" too (after moving from the Pitt St geek strip).

OK, I'm quite sure that you're the one taking mind-altering substances my friend because to let all of that go for 35 bucks is nuckin' futs! I bet your bit
of Aussieland has a low crime rate though when the addicts don't even have
to break into cars and houses to pay for their fix. They just sit back and let
the goods roll in cutting out the pawnshop owners in the process. Next time
you feel like taking money out of your pocket and throwing it to a junkie, stop and send it to people who are just plain destitute. It might make you feel better as well.

:p

I knew how insane it was as I did it, and I knew I just had to come here and tell you kids.

Though I did expect a tad more outrage. :D

Hey, we're roleplayers, when our comrades fall we spare a moments thought and then loot the body. Those of us in Sydney are too busy rubbing our hands together to get angry!

Must... resist... temptation of Eberron...

Gah, damn you Mr. Baker and WotC! You're taking my precious money! ;)

I wasn't going to buy Eberron, but the book is so very cool and nice looking and so very mineable for ideas and rules. *sigh* More money to my RPG addiction.

Dude, you so have nothing to worry about.

And yes, you are a total bastard, but of the very cunning, clever, and resourceful kind, and therefore I salute you. I'll be over here grumbling about how nice this book is. :)

Cheers,
Cam
