Ivellious' Sunless Citadel

Brother Ulfgar: Male Dwarven Cleric of Heironeous

Looks like the healer has certainly been busy. Bloody work, too, for such a small town. Heironeous has sent us here for a reason.

Ulfgar remains silent as Durann introduces them to the local priest. As he awaits the priest's answers to her query, he tries to take in as much of the scene as he can, to see if he can garner any clues as to what is keeping this cleric of Pelor so busy.

As Arain walks away towards the halfling from the serving girl, she moves behind the bar to wrestle up the special.

Carlos surveys the common room of the inn, taking notice of the fact that the bar only has a few patrons in it, being for the middle of the day though, that isn't uncommon. He also notices that the barkeep is a burly dwarf with a scar running down the left side of his face. The dwarf pours him a pint and says, "That'll be a gold piece". As the dwarf is pouring the pint, the doors to the inn open to let in an elder noble woman, and Rashford.

The priest takes a look at the dwarves before answer Durann's question. The man looks to have a little too much into food, and it is quite noticeable that his robes reek with the smell of alcohol. "I'm sorry to say this followers of Heironeous, but the Ol' Boar is the only place you might find shelter for the night" He then notices that Ulfgar is eying the sheets and says sheepishly, "Sorry about the mess, we just had a birth in the city."

Kerowyn smiled at Rash slightly as he held the door open for her, and proceeded to a table away from the from the bar. Rash notices that a elf, and a halfling are at the bar talking to the barkeep, but Kerowyn calls for Rash to take a seat. "Now Rash, I know you feel like you owe this town a great deal for the injuring of Tanis, and for putting our town in jeopardy by doing so, but I'm willing to give you a chance to redeem yourself. My niece and nephew were on their way to visit me for my birthday with their adventuring group. Poor souls didn't want to be party of the family business. Anyways, Sharwyn, and Talgen haven't shown up yet, and I can only guess why, but I bet it has something to do with this ravine that's between Oakhurst, and Luminsca, which was where we last heard from them. What I want you to do Rash is to go and check for me what has happened to my niece, and nephew and hopefully you'll find it in yourself to forgive yourself for what happened."

AI, you need to change your font color Vig already has it lol

His eyes stared down at the table after she finished speaking with a small smile on his face.
"Heh, thank you very much. You just gave me a chance to cross something off my 'to do' list. Like father once said, to repent for putting one life in danger you have to save two more...or was that with cards...A-anyway, if I do this can I get back to the other reason I came here for? If it's alright with the town I'd love to focus on my training when I get back and all these errands are kinda getting in my way...No offense."
He looked back up at her and laughed to ease the extremity of his haggling. Then something struck him, if they are missing, something bad must have happened to them obviously...He knew he couldn't possibly protect two people if it came down to it.
"And if I could ask one more thing. You wouldn't mind helping me if I needed financial help, I'll pay it back with some hard work if I have to."

Greetings Arain. My name is Carlos... let me get you a drink.

Carlos bows from the waist in an enthuseastic attempt at a formal style. Then places a couple of gold pieces on the bar.

He pauses as the door to the inn opens. His eyes follow the couple moving to their seats. Ears prick up at the sound of their conversation. Lost adventurers. Dangerous Vales. Redemption quests. This place seemed more interesting already.

Turning back to Arain and in a quieter voice.

What's do you make of that?

Apologies on the colour. That one better?

Duran Brightstone: Paladin of Heironeous

Durann's eyes light up at the thought of a child. "Oh! What a blessing! Are mother and child well and whole?" she asks truely interested.

Ulfgar: Male Dwarven Cleric of Heironeous

Ulfgar nods at the cleric of Pelor, but allows Durann to carry the conversation. He knows her well enough to trust that she is likely to make them a friend and possibly find out some information about this town in the bargain.

Plus, Ulfgar can't help but feel some disgust at this man. Not only has he been clearly overindulging in food (which Ulfgar could certainly understand), it appears that he hits the bottle overmuch as well. And if he reeks of drink now, does that mean he was helping to deliver a baby in a drunken state? Ulfgar can't imagine that Pelor would approve... Ulfgar wonders to himself if the man is lying about the reason for the bloody sheets...

The Priest nodded, and said, "The Mother, and babe are just fine. He came out kicking, that one." Though Ulfgar does notice that the man might've had a hangover while delivering the baby, the man does seem to be telling the truth about the sheets. "The name is Dasmond, Father Dasmond." he adds as he holds his hand out to Durann

Kerowyn looks at Rashford, and nods. "I understand why you want to train in this town, and I've no personal reason to keep you from it. As for the money though I can only give you words. I'll pay 600 gold for my niece and nephew's safe return, but if they've passed on, then I'll pay 300 gold for their signet rings so I know what has befallen them. If you only bring one of them back then you only get half the reward. Understand?" She says quietly

Sir d'Orien

A human traveller in fine, but dusted clothing walks in and goes up to the bar. He has a rapier at his side and a pack on his back.
"Good day, sir. Might I inquire about the meals you have available at this fine establishment?"

He thought to himself for a moment contemplating the idea of the offer.

He'd want to get both of em back safely but he also has to keep in mind of the reward and what to bring back in case of an unfortunate incident, his morals should come first and the safety of the two is concern number one and shouldn't be an option that's easily given up on. He looked back at her with a confident smile on his face giving her the most reassuring words he could come up with.
"Don't worry, I'll find out what's happened to them. You can count on it. I won't come back empty handed."
