Jason X (God help us all)

I've just seen the trailer for Jason X (Firday the 13th part 10).
I don't like to shoot down movies before I have seen them or at least gotten some word of mouth, but this is one of the most incredibly bad things I have ever seen. It is Jason in space meets Alien with Jason even getting a new futuristic "upgrade", including a robotic looking facemask. You have to see the commercial to appreciate this. This truly is the end of civilization and we may very well deseve it, after this movie was made!

Lets see if i can remember the story.

Flashback:
Camp Crystal Lake finally is destroyed and is a military installation base. A doctor is there studying Jason Vorhees and *you guessed it* something goes terribly wrong. They abandon the base and cryogenically freeze Jason. And the lady doctor with him.

Present day 2020:
Earth is now pretty much deserted. A bunch of school kids from colonized mars go on a field trip to earth. Something happens, Jason is unfrozen, mass carnage, doctor is hunting him down, blah blah blah.

Salutations,

Considering how much I enjoy part 9, I am looking forward to this movie. Plus, it has Lexa Doig in it, I believe.

And, if this does well- hopefully it will put a further nudge in the Jason vs. Freddy movie. Of course, they could use the good script floating around the net for this.. or, more likely, find something less complicated.

Jason got fingered?

Lexa Doig and Lisa Ryder (sp?)! Beka and Rommie in the same super-crappy film? I'm in!

Plus, I'm a sucker for crappy horror-flicks.....and Lexa Doig.....and Lisa Ryder.....

The sad thing is, I'll probably (eventually) see Queen of the Damned....because I hear Claudia Black (Aeryn Sun of Farscape) is in it.

I liked them all (particularyly 7 with Tina. The psychic girl. They need to bring her back). I liked Nine because of John D Lemay (the main male star) because he wa sin Friday the 13th the series. i LOVE That show. Hrm. I wonder if i can make a game out of it ...

Salutations,

He was one of the big reasons I liked 9- he played a very amusing hero to counter Jason.

The other reasons are the bounty hunter, the beginning (the military finally coming in to deal with Jason, and the nods toward other horror movies/stories- I use to recall a list of the latter, but the necronomicon's appearance is the only one that comes to mind.

Of course, my favorite Jason scene comes from 8 (I believe that was the manhatten one); the boxing scene between Jason and the big guy still gives me the chuckles.

"Come on you Son of a *******, give me your best shot!"

And the head goes flying into the dumpster, closing the lid.

But yes, X actually comes into Crystal lake so i guess its a conclusion to 9. And you cant blame him. hes still pissed b/c of what they did to his mom.

Johnathen Potts Captain N: The Gamemaster

I feel so sad for this person.

No one should be remembered for Captain N.

I hope this person has a lucrative job now doing something inspiring.

I'd hardly say that they"got their start" from these movies. Several of the people on your list appeared in one, and then went on to do a couple other low-budget films, and have since disappeared.

Those who are considered successful today already had strong acting careers underway before being in the Friday the 13th movies.

Kevin Bacon: Three movies and a couple years on Soaps before Friday the 13th.

Betsy Palmer: Numerous movies and TV series, beginning in 1955, 25 years before Friday the 13th

Tracie Savage: Several TV movies and series to her credit before appearing in the third Friday the 13th

Kimberly Beck: Her TV and movie career began 20 years before she appeared in a Friday the 13th movie.

Corey Feldman: Seven movies and TV series under his belt in the five years prior to his appearance in Friday the 13th 4

Ross Shavar: 11 years of television prior to his appearance

Tom Fridley: Friday the 13th 6 was his fifth movie

Lar Park Lincoln: Her Friday the 13th appearance was her fourth movie

Erin Gray: 19 years of television appearances before her Friday the Thirteenth appearance

Steven Williams: 18 years of television and movies

Leslie Jordan: 11 years previous acting in television and movies

Lexa Doig: already has a very successful Television Sci Fi series career (8 years experience)

Lisa Ryder: 3 TV series, four mvies before hooking up with Jason

Johnathen Potts: 13 years in movies and television

David Croninberg: has been doing movies and television since 1966, first as a director and producer, then as an actor

I believe that the movie takes place in 24xx, and not 2020.
