Jedi Light Sabre

Billiant Energy Bastard Sword.

Or maybe a Sonic Brilliant Energy Bastard Sword - then it even gives you the 'vwubb vwubb' sound effect.

A brilliant energy weapon is kind of expensive...

Yeah, but the thing is... a lightsaber was a peice of technology. You could steal it from the jedi, and then he wouldn't have a lightsaber. Part of becoming a jedi knight, rather than an apprentice, was crafting your lightsaber. The fact that you couldn't just pick one up and the Five n' Dime is part of what made jedi's saber important to him, and a symbol of his station.

Seriously, I don't know how lightsabers are done in d20 SW, but that thing (according to the movies at least) is supposed to slice through metal. Force doesn't slice thourgh anything. Brilliant energy ignores material, but doesn't affect it...

The possibility of increasing and decreasing the size of the thunderlance is kind of Jedi like

But it isn't really Lightsaberlike at all. Sure, you can activate or deactivate it, but you can't make it 20 ft long.

To be honest, you should get a "real" lightsaber as a custom wondrous item, not emulate it by any D&D-means, cause that probably won't work.

Make it 2d8, 19-20/x2, 1h-weapon. Make something else with the energy part, maybe let it make touch attacks. Add Str to the damage. It's finessable. You can't enspell the thing, cause it's not a weapon per se.

Could just follow SWd20...2d8+Str Damage, one handed melee weapon, 19-20/x2, can be finessed, ignores hardness. Don't have the book in front of me...think I got it all.
