jgbrowning, Rystil Arden, and Hypersmurf talk amongst themselves

Wow, i didn't notice that before. I though Stone to Flesh actually killed, but it doesn't. Oh well, take that off my list then. :) What about disintigrated items then?

joe b.
Disintegrate could be something of an exception, depending on the spell, if only because the spell Disintegrate has the power to destroy many spell effects, even those that are only destroyed by a few things (like Wall of Force).

On the Flesh to Stone note...

Flesh to Stone
The subject, along with all its carried gear, turns into a mindless, inert statue. If the statue resulting from this spell is broken or damaged, the subject (if ever returned to its original state) has similar damage or deformities. The creature is not dead, but it does not seem to be alive either when viewed with spells such as deathwatch.

Only creatures made of flesh are affected by this spell.

He's not a creature made of flesh any more, right? So he's unable to be affected by Flesh to Stone, so the spell is cancelled?

(Unless you only check at time of casting, not continuously...)

I agree. I made the other argument because I misunderstood the thrust of your point.

This is not correct as far as I know.

Oh well. I guess my point grows weaker by the minute... :)

Perhaps the effect would only be surpresed then as it appears to be the more typical response to a big state change.

Agh! I surrender!, the blades of your "Dude, you don't know what your talking about" arguement cut to deeply.

Perhaps I should read the rules? Naw, I'm a author, not a... not a... person who doesn't write game material for public consumption. :D

Perhaps the thread should be called....

Spells - jgbrowning, Rystil Arden, and Hypersmurf talk amongst themselves or 135 posts about something that could have been solved had jgbrowning had even a wee little clue. :)

Ah its OK. Authors don't need to read the rules for things about which they aren't going to be specifically writing. A Magical Medieval Society: Western Europe is still going to be one of my best d20 purchases whether or not we agree on when effects end :D

Heh, thanks for the kind words. I think that making mistakes and embarrising yourself is something authors have to get used to. If you don't it seems like the only other option is to turn into a raging jerkwad.

I think this is the longest thread I've ever seen actually come to an amicable and agreeable conclusion. Something new every day. :)
