How does The GM not have any respect for players’ agency? the scene I described has nothing to do with party agency, it simply provides background and backstory to the campaign and is a scene the players read not take part in
The scene you described has nothing to do with the party, period.

That’s a problem. The party isn’t even a viewpoint character, Hermione is.

You're not providing background, you’re deluging the characters with a 15 minute monologue that includes information the characters couldn’t possibly know. Unless they have detect thoughts active, they couldn’t possibly know what Hermione thinks of the death of Harry or Ron.
