Just Cancelled DDI

I'd consider subbing if they released content for older games, specifically AD&D 1e.

Or better yet figured out a way to re release Old issues of Dungeon and Dragon magazine.

Can anyone think of any reason to stay on board at this point, if you aren't a player using the character tools? I cannot.
Other than being a GM of an active 4e campaign? Not really.

I'm sure WotC had to realize that once they announced Next. But I do find it has value for my current campaign, which will last for a couple of years at least.

I GM a 4E campaign, but I mostly use monsters out of the book now....but I guess that will get harder and harder now that they are 20th level.....that monster builder is what I use most (though I really am not in love with the math).

I'm trapped. When DDI came out I subscribed., and after having it for a while I made the choice that I'd rather pay a monthly subscription and get everything (with errata) and the tools and not buy the books (that quickly needed lots of errata). That said, I'm in multiple 4e games, and unless I go buy all the books, I'm paying.

That said, WotC has consistently underperformed on the digital side, and right now the magazines are dwindling. They just went back to full mag PDF, and the size is minimal compared to what it used to be. I may have missed CB update notes, but as far as I can tell there hasn't been any in quite some time. Others have mentioned how the monster builder doesn't use the current game math. The compendium is the only part that I think lives up to what it should do, and that's a fraction of the total package.

Frankly, I'm excited about playing Next as well as other editions, but I've learned that I can't trust WotC's digital offerings so I'll be buying physical books and not paying them a monthly fee. That'll be a good time to pick up the 4e books I'm missing on the used market, as well.

TL;DR: Paying, feeling trapped, won't trust WotC digital again.

My subscription runs out at the end of February. I'm currently running the end-game of my campaign at Epic (currently level 25) and will likely be able to finish up without resubscribing, so I won't. I haven't done more than glance at Dragon or Dungeon in months and I'm, only really using CB and Compendium, at the moment, so I'll really have no more need of them when I'm done running. It will be on to a different game system.
