Just got Dragon 315 - Campaign Classics

True, though in the strictest sense, Chainmail wasn't D&D...hence why I mentioned Dragon Dice. ;)

Gee, the Dungeons & Dragons logo was pretty big on Chainmail for a game that wasn't D&D. :)

More seriously, Dragon ended up being home to more source material on the Sundered Empire than the actual Chainmail products. All those articles had D&D content, such as monster stats (later collected into MMII without crediting me; wohoo) and artifacts. As for the new article, you can easily transport the content to other settings, especially those that use D&D's racial pantheons.

And yes, GR will be doing DragonFist this coming year. I didn't pay for that for nothing. :)

Is DragonFist going to be d20-compatible? I was pretty let down by the kung-fu fighting rules in Oriental Adventures, to be honest and was looking to use something for my Forgotten Realms/Kara-Tur campaign.

I have never been a fan of phlogiston and crystal shells. Never. All I care about is flying ships through space and spelljamming helm. Period.

On topic though... yay! more stuff for Birthright!!! Any details?

The setting I miss from the issue wasn't Spell Jammer, it was Council of Wyrms. The setting is a great concept, but has always been almost completed ignored. Even when it came out, I don't really remember much promotion for it. It got no modules, no supplements, nothing. The recent Dragonomicon owes a lot to the setting. I was reaaly hoping there would be something in this issue about it, but the setting was neglected again.

Where's the love for CoW?

Actually, IIRC, there was a Dragon article for it detailing the stats necessary for yellow, brown, cloud, shadow, and a few other dragons. Likewise, there was a Dungeon adventure where you had to stop the machinations of a dracolich who was searching for a magic item that would let him have (limited) control over the Tarrasque.

It was supposed to be a one-off when it was published, so no surprise that there were no modules or supplements.

The love? Halfdragons made it into the 3e MM. Dragons are playable as characters, albeit with a massive LA. What more do you need? The setting book you have from 2e is still good :)

Oh yeah, anybody have any details about the Birthright article? A bunch of templates? Feats? What? We have to know!

Birthright Bloodlines for D&D 3.5 is about acquiring bloodlines, increasing bloodline scores, and the feats you can take for having a blooline. If you have a bloodline (there are 3), you have a score in it that can be increased. A (particular) bloodline is prerequisite for 7 different feats: Alter Appearance, Animal Affinity, Battlewise, Character Reading, Direction Sense, Fear, and Strengthen Bloodline. Your strength in the bloodline determines what you can do with that feat. For example in Alter Appearance: Benefit (minor) you can change your features using the disguise self spell; Benefit (major) You can use alter self to change your form; Benefit (great) Once per day as a full-round action, you can use polymorph on yourself only.

Unless stated otherwise, most of the benefits are used at will as standard actions.

I hate to thread jack like this, but does anyone know which issue of Dungeon this was?

And back on topic, I am glad for the Planescape stuff. I think I am the only fan of the setting that wasn't upset about Faction War, and I am glad to see what the exiled factions have been doing.

Dungeon issue 48. "Sleeping Dragon" by Bill Slavicsek, a 15-page adventure.

I'm glad to see FW reaffirmed also.
