Just saw brotherhood of the wolf and I loved it!

This is way off the thread's topic (sorry), but: RangerWickett, judging by your listed location, that's one hell of a commute.

(We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.)

I haven't seen BOTW yet, but I plan on checking it out. As far as Charlie's Angels is concerned; If you watch it expecting to see something serious you are going to be dissapointed. That's not the movie they made. McG accomplished with CA exactly what he set out to do, the extra material on the dvd really helps one to realize that. You can't help but smile when you watch it, it's fun. And of course the gals are wonderful eyecandy.

Why some people insist on referring to FOTR as a New Zealand movie is beyond me. Sure, it was filmed there, and I'm sure plenty of extras and whatnot where locals, but that doesn't make it a New Zealand movie. If I filmed a movie in the Pacific Ocean, that wouldn't make it a Pacific Ocean movie.
That said, I have no problems with kiwis. ;)

Well the wife and I plan on seeing it Thursday for our Anniversary. I skipped over all the spoilers folks but I will post my thoughts on it after I see it.

And if Peter Jackson is a neozealandese, is that sufficient ? Because he is. NZ director, NZ landscape, NZ actors (not all, of course, but some), NZ extras by the ton, NZ fundings (partly, maybe).

I liked the movie, but the first two third of the movie was a little dreary to watch...especially withe the subtitled partially disaligned and somewhat obscurred.

SPOILERS
I thought it weird that Samuel le Bihan (the Naturalist) was a sudden kick-butt martial artist after Mani's demise, without revealing that in the beginning. A little more than surreal...I found that to be a little cheezy.

Overall, an interesting film...

Actually, it was hinted at all through the movie, particularly when Fronsac, Mani and Thomas were in the forest, just prior to the hunt. There was a pretty clear implication at several points in the film that Fronsac was a dangerous fighter, he just chose not to use those skills. His discussion of his military past in the Americas and military service also laid the groundwork, in addition to his blood-brother relationship with Mani.

Yeah! What was up with that terrible subtitling job? I thought our projectionist was screwing up, but apparently not: the bottom third of each letter was dropped off the print, it looked like.

Not to mention the perils of using white subtitles in a movie that has lots of scenes in bright sunlight; there were several times when I had to devote all my attention to squinting out the meaning of the subtitles, and missed whatever was going on above.

Nah. For French Movies, give me City of Lost Children any day.

There were no subtitle issues whatsoever for me. Perhaps they were redone at some point? As with any subtitled movie involving action, there is a bit of aclimation but a short time into the movie, you don't even realize you're reading them anymore.
