Cool popcorn flick. :)

It was mindless and had a lot of action. I loved the Steve Zahn character being more than "just a sidekick" who was there solely for comic relief. He and Matthew McConaughey had great chemistry and seemed like great friends who zinging one liners back and forth.

Mindless.. But fun.

What was the deal with the robed knife-fighter who showed up every time they had gone for 10 min without a tussle? I thought it was pretty sporting of him to stay behind on the enormous tower to fight Matthew McConaughey so his boss could blow it up and kill them both.

That was my impression too--kind dumb, but fun nonetheless.

It's not a high purchase priority, but I've put the DVD on my "Buy Eventually Wishlist."

It was better than I expected, had a good flow been putting it about even with Fantastic Four on my movie list for the year:

1. Mr & Mrs Smith
2. Batman Begins - Wedding Crashers (yes, it is just as good but apples and oranges)
3. Star Wars: RotS
4. Sin City - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Brothers Grimm
5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide
6. The Pacifier
7. Fantastic Four - Sahara
8. Constantine
9. Kingdom of Heaven

Am I the only one here who's read everything Clive Cussler has ever written? Haven't seen Sahara yet but it isn't even in my Top Ten for Dirk Pitt novels. I'll probably pick up the DVD though.

I read most of his 80s' and early 90s' stuff. Sahara was fun but not the greatest of the books. I've got most of them in storage.

You aren't alone. I even saw the horrible movie adaptation of Raise the Titanic. I'm glad Cussler has finally reconsidered letting his books be adapted to the big screen.

I've read one or three here and there. I've enjoyed what I've read but not enough to be any kind of real fan. Still, given what I do know of his work I should have thought that a lott more of it would have been optioned off for a steady stream of reasonably enjoyable action movies.
