Just taught my wife D&D!

...Seriously though, it's a really fund hobby to share

Freudian slip! So you worry about how much money the game costs, mm?

My wife has been playing now since 3E came out. Just like everyone else, she wasn't a gamer but was cool with me gaming. Personally, I credit 3E for bringing some spouses over to our side. It is just so much less of a headache!

For the longest time, my wife was the only woman among all of our "couples friends" that played games like Axis & Allies, Avalon Hill Games, MtG, etc. To all of the guys (who were gamers), she was "the cool wife". She started playing 3E over a year ago and has even DM'ed a prefab campaign.

Since she started RPGs, I have noticed a definite trend for us- new "couples friends" are almost always gaming couples. Go figure...

my wife also started on 3E. its fun to play and a good way of interacting. i've had only a few problems DMing her, (mostly because she really has the soul of a thief:) ) and she likes to rules lawyer a bit. i dont treat her differently than any other player so it hasn't been anthing unusual. nothing i wouldn't expect from any player.

thankfully, i get to play as a player this week for a brief campaign.. :) my heads hurting from writing so much i'm really looking forward to it. it will be the first time we can both play as players!

About a year ago I needed a stand in for a player in my game who wasn't going to be able to play for a month. My gf was very not into gaming but I talked into taking the seat, since it was just for a month. She's still playing.

Is that so bad?
It would give you an excuse to buy the revised stuff next year. ;)

That would be terrible for several reasons:
  1. I'm very attached to my RPG stuff
  2. Some of it can't be (or would be very difficult/expensive to) replace
  3. She'd steal any new stuff I bought too - you think there's a limit to her larceny?
  4. We would have terrible rows if I tried to get my stuff back
    [/list=1]

I lent her my VCR. She wouldn't return it claiming that it was hers even though I got it before I met her, made it clear I was lending it and never, ever said she could have it permanently. I suspect there's some kender blood in her!

The first time I played with one of my girlfriends, I was amaxed at how easily she role-played. She got into the role much easier (and portrayed it better) than the people I usually play with, who had years of experience. I've always wondered if this was the same with most women.
