TSR Just when you thought it was all over.... now there’s a fourth TSR!

In the story that will never end, after having this week turned itself into Wonderfilled, Inc, and deleted its Twitter account, TSR is BACK AGAIN! Like again, again, again, again. Complete with old-school logo! And Michael appears to actually exist!

Michael K. Hovermale says in a press release that an unnamed individual (I’m guessing Stephen Dinehart) apparently ran all the social media accounts for TSR, Dungeon Hobby Shop Museum, Ernie Gygax, Justin LaNasa, and Giantlands. He goes on to say that this person has been replaced, and that all posts on those social media accounts are "invalid". There's no mention of Stephen Dinehart's social media accounts though.

Dinehart has left TSR3, taking Giantlands with him. Given that Star Frontiers mentions have been quietly removed a week or so ago, that would leave TSR3.5 without any roleplaying game products, as far as I can tell.

The existing (TSR3} website still says it's WONDERFILED (sic), Inc. However there’s now a NEW one at TSR Hobbies. We’ll call that TSR3.5 for now. I’m struggling to distinguish TSRs from tribbles at this point. They just keep on coming!

I don't really know what to say anymore, but my job is to report the news. So here's the news.

I have no idea how much traction TERFs in the USA have, as I never seem to hear about them, but the ones in the UK are way too eager to play nice with the Tories. I think a few of them have even sat down with out and out fascists.

I have no idea either and this thread is the first time I have even seen the term TERF before and I had to just look up what it stood for. I was surprised to see it has been around since 2008. And when it comes to how things are in the US, I would think it would be impossible to be both on the right and be a feminist, as people to the right are usually also anti-equal rights.

Well that's not accurate but as I see zero possibility this isn't going to veer smack into general politics I think we should just leave it at "we disagree."

Liberalism isn't left. It's at the centre; it's just that the right-wing in the USA is so far to the right that the liberals seem far-left in comparison, and so liberal=left seems to have entered the American vernacular. Outside of the USA, left is usually taken to mean communists, anarchists, democratic socialists, etc.

The farthest to the left that Rowling could conceivably be is somewhere around Tony Blair, which isn't very left.
Nah, she's more of a Gordon Brown - left of Blair but nowhere near as left wing as the 1970s-80s Labour notables like Tony Benn, Michael Foot, or even Neil Kinnock.

Nnnnnnnnoooooooo... no. Nope.

Most TERFs are on the right. They tend to hold a few left-wing ideals close at heart (Specifically those related to equal pay for women, family leave rather than maternity leave, and an end to the pink tax) but they sit down at the table with the farthest right they can reach.

Take J.K. Rowling, for instance. She holds to a few left-side ideals, but for the most part supports the right wing because they agree with her Terfiness.

Terfs in the US are -massively- more likely to sit down with Marjorie Taylor Green than Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, even if AOC supports more of their overall platform as regards women's rights, because they're almost all One-Issue peeps.
Yeah, this, for the most part. TERFs love to pretend to be left wing but a lot of their talking points are essentially the same as right wing homophobic talking points with the serial numbers filed off.

TERFs are categorically not feminists, as much as they would like to pretend they are. Their platform is fundamentally biologically essentialist, which is both (a) contrary to actual established science, and (b) desperately at odds with virtually every plank of every possible stripe of feminist

I'll add that TERFs, especially as pretend leftists, while not exclusive to the UK, are as an active political force largely a British phenomenon. They exist in the US but they're quite a bit more rare here; transphobic sentiment and policy are pretty identafiably a product of a specific faction on the right. Anti-trans leftist politicians are rarely so for ideological reasons (as TERFs are) but are more motivated by what they consider to be electoral pragmatism. Not that that makes it any better, such as it is.

I acknowledge that we are pretty far off topic here, but I did want to clear up some misconceptions before the thread gets back on track (or closed)

Ugh, yuck.

I found two public Star Frontiers groups on FaceBook and neither one of them appear to be affiliated with TSR3, but I didn't dive in very deep (I try to limit my exposure to FB). The first is called "Star Frontiers: Alive & Well," with 3.8K members and created July 19 2009. The other is called "Inclusive Star Frontiers" with 172 members, created on June 27 2021.
Alive & Well is the original one - from which a large number of the members were culled for not supporting TSR3.

Inclusive is the one created in response to the cullings.

When we're listing American politicians, we're well over the "no politics" line. Try to keep it in the gaming sphere, please folks!
