I'm interested

Me too. CoC is one of those games I've always wanted to play, but can never find anyone to play WITH... and I've got scads of notes for running some of my own CoC one-offs, too. p'raps I should polish one up and bring it along. eh?

Slightly unrelated...

Despite having lived here in Overland Park for the last howevermanyit'sbeen months, I only know where a couple gaming stores are -- one at 87th and Grant (and I have no idea what it's called), and the Battlezone at 95th and Quivira-ish across from Oak Park Mall. What other gaming stores are there in the area? And by area I mean anywhere in KC Metro, both MO and KS. I figure if I mill about aimlessly in enough gaming stores, I'll strike up conversations with people, and maybe get to know more than the six, seven people I've met and spoken to more than once since moving here.

Are you talking about Table Top? This is my FLGS, at about 83rd and Quivira. The first KC Game Day was held there, I think.

Its in a strip mall, along the east side of the road. The game room is nice and big, and there are a number of restaraunts right there that do a lot of walk-in business from hungry gamers on evenings and weekends.

Ask for Phil or Matt, they'll get you lined up w/ whatever you need!

I've been to that one on 87th street - near the library. It's not a bad store. I forget the name of it.

I'm not familiar with stores up north, or in the slums like Independence or Lee's Summit (*ducks*).

The two biggest ones in Johnson county are
TableTop Games. It's at 79th and Quivira. There are two ways to get to it. Exit 75th Street and go west until you hit Quivira, and go south. You'll go a couple of blocks until you hit a red light near a gas station, and some apartment complexes. Turn left, and turn into a small strip mall. There is a bank in the parking lot, and a Domino's Pizza, and some other stuff. TableTop is the very last building at the end. It's really quite hidden. This is where we had the 1st Game Day.

The second one is 31st Century Games. They are in Olathe. And I really have no idea how to describe how to get there, other than to say it's on 151st street. It is also in a strip mall. I found this address online. Other sites have the address listed as 2123, or 2113-B. I also found Joe's email address - jwsuber@comcast.net.

31st Century Games & Hobbies
2113 East 151st Street
Olathe, KS 66062

Battlezone has a good selection of stuff, but most of the customer's are younger, and most are into CRPGs, or card games. Plus, the store stinks. My wife won't go in it at all, claiming that it reeks of "boy funk".

He's talking about a different store. I forget the name of it, but it's just east of the Johnson County Library on 87th street. It's tucked away in a corner, so it's easy to miss unless you already know where to look.

Incidentally, if you talk to Matt (blond guy w/ glasses), tell him Wade or Curtis sent you. He'll know who you're talking about. I don't know Phil that well, and he certainly wouldn't know me. Phil is the owner, and works there during the days. Since I've only ever really been there on the weekends, I only know Matt. There is another guy too, but he's not quite as social.

Table Top's address and contact info:

7797 Quivira Road, Lenexa, Ks. 66216
(913) 962-GAME (4263) FAX: (913) 962-4262

And doing some more searches, I found a more appropriate address for 31st Century - 21138 E 151st. That makes more sense.

And I've exhausted my google skills. I can't find a reference -anywhere- on the internet for that store on 87th street by the library. I'm starting to question wherever I ever went in there, or whether it was just some kind of hazy dream....

Hmm... thanks. I'll have to check this out. Has it been there long? I'd think I'd have found it by now.

I've been to the store that tucked away in a strip mall on 87th street. It seemed kind of smallish and typical (kind of like the now defunct Pirate Games that was on 95th street)

I do recommend Table Top and 31st Century Games. Both are good stores, and Phil is seems like a really nice guy.

The 31st Century Games story is located on the corner of 151st and Mur-len (I think that is how it is spelled.) Ironic, eh? ;)
