Keep the purpose in mind

- Have you read Mearl's letter that comes with the playtesting package?

- Have you read the very first "What is this adventure testing?" paragraph of Caves of Chaos, which explains the scope and purpose of playtesting, including a bunch of simple and clear questions to your group?

- Have you started playing with the rules provided (Caves of Chaos or not)?

If the answer to any of those is "NO", then you're not playtesting yet, or you're not playtesting properly, which means your feedback is worthless.

By the tone and content of most threads in the last couple of days, I have the feeling that our answer is NO to ALL the above

I just wanted to say this because I worked for years in test management. If you don't get the purpose of your assignment, you're wasting their time. Don't throw away the opportunity you are given to be part of the design process!

Happy playtesting!

I'm not beholden to WotC in this. I'm checking out 5E because I'm interested in fantasy RPGs and am willing to give D&D another look. I played a playtest session playing through part of the caves of chaos without any house rules and the group reported our findings.

That's all WotC gets from me. Not to dictate what discussions about their game are appropriate and which are not.
