Kevin Smith review of Revenge of the Sith - Spoiler Filled

It seems that Kevin Smith really, really loves Revenge of the Sith. This bodes well for the movie, this Star Wars fan is crossing his fingers that it lives up to the original trilogy. I don't hate I and II like some people do. I actually enjoyed them. But I am capable of recognizing that, although they're prettier than the originals, they are definitely a mixed bag.

Anyway, here's the review. Be warned it is spoiler filled, I myself only glanced over it to get how he felt about the movie. I probably only actually read the first and last paragraphs and scanned over the rest.

Can we trust Spielburg's opinion though? He and George are good friends after all.

Well, Ep I was probably the worst of the lot. Ep II was better. Maybe he's getting back into the swing of things, and Ep III he's "getting it" again? I don't know. I didn't think Ep I and II were as bad as some would have them. I hated Jar Jar, but he had a minimal presence in Ep II, *and* it was his blunder that helped lead to the Empire in the first place, which is actually rather funny IMO.

I'm hoping Ep III is even better. I'm not betting on it, but I'm hoping.

Plus, after buying the DVD set of the original trilogy and watching them, I recognize that a certain part of liking them better than I and II is nostalgia. None of them seem as good as I remember. I still like them, but, I don't know....maybe my tastes have changed? I've grown up? They just don't feel the same now.

And Kevin Smith loves Star Wars anyway. ;)

Of course, Spielburg also worked on Ep III(one scene, don't believe its been said which though), so I guess you can't trust him at all.

I liked Ep1&2 (despite their flaws) and I'm all geeked up for Ep3, my point about Spielberg however was that that I have doubts George's good friend would badmouth his movie just before it comes out. Plus people in hollywood often lie about the quality of he movies they're involved with (of course they're paid to promote them, but still).

Anyone want to post a discussion of what Smith thought of it, with spoilers removed, for those of us who want to hear what he has to say, but are avoiding spoilers?

Dunno how much work that would be, so I understand if nobody's up for it.
