Got into a preview screening of this earlier this week. Walked out after about a half-hour. If it even gets a theatrical release, I recommend not paying money for it. There are a bunch of roleplaying jokes that I was probably the only one to get in the theater (at least it seemed like I was the only one who laughed at them), but they're not enough to make the film worthwhile.

I'm embarrassed for all the actors involved. For their sake, I hope this goes straight to video.

Dude. I cannot WAIT to see this film. All the better if it shows up on the big screen, but I'm totally good with seeing it in the comfort of my own living room.

Sure, this thing's gonna be cheesy as hell, but so what?? So was Gamers (and its sequel), and I loved every minute of it. The big-name actors involved are already geek icons. This looks to be another for-geeks-by-geeks project. I was psyched the first time I saw the trailer well over a year ago, and my anticipation hasn't dulled at all.

If a non-gamer-geek wants to complain about a movie specifically made for gamer geeks, I'm not going to allow it to influence my enjoyment at all.

Gotta ask Spatula though: If you 'got' the jokes, why did you walk out of the theater?

I also can't wait for the Knights of Badassdom! This film looks like a lot of fun too:

For the record, I liked Gamers. Never saw the sequel.

I walked out because 3 funny jokes (and lots of lame wannabe jokes) in a half-hour does not make a worthwhile comedy. I have better things to do with my time. I've still got a season and a half of Community to watch, for example, and that's a hell of a lot funnier. And actually, that's what we did when we got home.

That voice is familiar...it comes from a midget?
Holy :):):):)...can it be? :):):):) IT'S PETER DINKLAGE.

I don't know what the complaining is about. I love larp and I love Dinklage. I'm sold.
