Known errata/errors in the XPH

The Augment text for Prescience, Offensive (pg 125) reads "1. For every 3 additional power points you spend, the insight bonus gained on your attack rolls increases by 1." However, the effect for Offensive Prescience is an insight bonus to damage, not attack roll (that power is Offensive Precognition).

I assume this is errata, and not the way the power was meant to be. If it is correct, Offensive Prescience is a pretty sweet power.

p. 96 - psionic domination. Considering that the arcane equivalent lasts one day per level, is it a mistake that duration is listed as "concentration", with no way to augment the duration? The reduction in power is inexplicable otherwise.

On the WotC boards, Mike Donias basically said it isn't a mistake. So, if you want to play a charcter that uses magic to dominate minds... you shouldn't play a Telepath. As you said, inexplicable.

Incidently, there's a large XPH errors and errata thread here

IIRC, Dominate is a 4th level power. 4th level powers cost 7 PP to manifest. A 20th level psion has 343 PP without bonuses from high stats. He could therefore manifest Dominate 49 times per day. If it lasted for 20 days he would be able to keep tight reigns on ~1,000 people. Are you sure you want the power to last one day per level?

First, most of the proposed solutions I've seen have been to give it an augmentation that cost 2pp, changed the duration to 1day/level and only worked on humanoids. +2 pp basically makes it equivalent to the 5th level arcane domination.

But anyway, even assuming a straight duration change with no cost increase attached, a 20th level wizard can cast Dominate Person 20 times per day, letting him control about 400 people at once. Not as many as the Psion, but still a boat load. Enough, one would presume, to cause balance issues.

Except, I've never heard of a player doing that, because it eats up all of your high level spells (which will cause you to be very dead when a group of adventurers shows up to free the village from your control or some other emergency erupts). Basically, what I'm saying is, if mind controling hundreds of people isn't broken for the wizard, why would it be broken for the Psion?

I'll note that (unless I'm mistaken) "concentration" means that you can only dominate one person at a time.

You're not mistaken. But you knew that already. :)

That being said, please don't hijack this thread with the domination question if it isn't an errata. We have a thread already discussing this if you want to chime in.

Sorry. But you brought it up first. :p Moving over there now.

This may not be an error, but all the metapsionic feats have a reduced cost (for example, Maximize Power is +4 PP, the equivalent of +2 spell levels, instead of +6), EXCEPT for Extend Power, which still costs +2 PP (when it seems it should cost +0).
This is probably not an error, but a design decision. The metapsionic feats require you to expend your focus when you use them, so the PP cost is reduced to compensate. I suppose Extend Power is an exception because there are a number of long-duration powers which you wouldn't cast in combat, so you could easily regain your focus after manifesting them.

As for actual errata, the Soulknife's skill points per level is listed as 4+Int on p. 27 and 2+Int on p 35.

It is just my imagination or is the Soulknife going to get the award for the most errata'ed class?

Inertial Armor could probably use the [Force] descriptor since the power mentions force and incorporeal creatures can't bypass it.
