Known errata/errors in the XPH

Ghost Attack, page 42 (table) says the character can successfully attack incorporeal creatures on a critical.

The feat description, page 46-47, is a reduced miss chance akin to Blind-Fighting.

ecto protection has a target of an astral construct you manifest and a duration of 1 min/ level. Astral construct has a duration of 1 round/level. That's a lot of wasted duration.

Breath of the black dragon has a 3.0 cone one with its range and area of effect being short.

I don't have my books with me at the moment, but IIRC Crisis of Breath can be augmented to affect additional stuff, including Elementals.

Problem is, elementals don't eat, sleep or breath, so you can't use Crisis of Breath on them!

Another one that I can't check (no book with me) but someone might like to check up on.

I may have misread it last night, but the Greater Psionic Weapon feat - does that not say anything about expending focus? (perhaps the text for expending focus for that feat is elsewhere?)

I'm posing the question rather than stating it as a bald errata point because I'm still just skimming through the books and I don't have it with me at the moment, but I wonder if anyone else noticed anything about this?

edit: OK, I've been able to check it out and it seems clear enough to me that the Greater xyz feats supercede the basic ones, just providing more damage - and as such they still require the focus to be expended.

Phew, that's OK then!

Since no one's mentioned it: Psychic Reformation (p127) seems ripe for abuse.

What it does is let you re-pick feats, skill points and powers. It costs 50xp per level you have to go back to (so if a 10th level character wishes to change a feat selected at 6th level, it costs 200xp). This cost is split between manifester & subject. You can change all of the feats, skills and powers selected back to the level you've paid for (so the above 10th level character could also change an 8th level feat pick). The only restriction is that you have to qualify for feats normally (so your 6th level feat re-choice can't require a +8 BAB for instance).

The abuse? consider a psion who at 6th level picked Weapon Focus as a feat, and decides that was a mistake. At 7th level, she picks Psychic Reformation as a power. Now, she expends 100 xp to allow here to change here 6th level feat. But, after she does so, she'll no longer need Psychic Reformation! so, she also re-picks PR! Meaning, that at any level that a Psion, Wilder, Erudite or Psychic Warrior can aquire a 4th level Psion/Wilder power (and all of them can, via feats if nothing else) they can re-pick as many powers, feats and skills as they are willing to pay xp for! And they don't even have to keep PR as a power, since they can also re-pick it at the same time!

A secondary abuse also exists for Permanancy: Since Psions always gain 2 powers/level, they can pick (starting at 9th level) both Permanency & PR; then they can manifest Perm. a couple times. Then, for 50xp they can re-pick both powers!

I'm not sure what ought to be done about this; maybe make it so PR can never re-pick itself? that would still leave the Perm. abuse, although it's not nearly as bad then; it would in effect cost 50xp to temporarily possess Perm.

It's just the boilerplate "affecting other creature types" augment text that's also used with Psionic Charm and Psionic Dominate. I suppose elementals (and outsiders?) should be removed from the list, or it should be made more clear that creatures that don't breathe can't be affected by the power.

I dont understand intrope, where is the abuse? It does still cost a pretty hefty amount of exp after all, and the benefit is that you can do things that you could have done anyway the first time. Hard to see any real abuse there, especially with the cost.
